Just threw some cheap headers on my 84 k10 to see if the engine runs. Crawled underneath and notice the cross member is in the way of the headers. Not sure if the headers are wrong or if the cross member is wrong. I have attached a photo. Any advice would be appreciated.

That's the correct crossmember for your specific trans/t-case mount, but not correct for an '84. However, that really has nothing to do with your current issue. An '84 style crossmember would be in the way too.

Most headers, especially the cheaper ones, typically hang low on our truck applications. The pipes normally need an "S" bend in them to clear the crossmember. Nothing out of the ordinary.
