Now for anyone wondering if you put a th350 in place of a 700r4 in a 2wd application you want the mid or as some call it long 9 inch tail they are almost the same overall length.

I can buy the TCI kit through Summit Pro Shop for $182.00, pt # 329900. In the description it says, "May require driveshaft modifications". It's for the 208 tranfer case, what would be the reason for modifying the driveshaft? That's what I want to avoid.

Talked to my trans guy and he said you have to cut the tail shaft off, it's to long, not to short. You'll need the adapter, spacer, and that's it.

if you buy the kit from tci you use the shaft that comes in the kit, and yes exactly like I said the shaft, tailshaft in the trans if you chose to use what's in the trans and NOT buy th ekit it gets cut down. They say you cut an inch or lil more off and put on the spacer and done. This adapter you keep reffering to you mean the adapter from the trans to the t-case stock gm piece?

There's no reason for modifying the driveshaft that's what they make the kit for to put a th350 right in place of a 700r4 4wd and keeping the transfar case in the same spot.

I've done it.

I was just stating what Summit had on their site. Thats what I was thinking when I read it, whole reason I was buying the kit was so I don't have to change driveshafts. Some guy on another site was saying the shaft, rear, was to short, I'm pretty sure we used to cut 1 1/2 inches off, but my memory ain't great. I'm hoping I've found a spacer, the one in the kit, a friend says he has one if he can find it. I got the plate in mine already, the gm piece that the mount bolts too.

yeap like I said I HAD 2, I can't find the other I had. The one I have now but if I do th350 I'll need it, if not then when I get yours, I won't need it and you can use it. I'll kep checking on mine I swear it should be here. I'm actually thinking of doing the same, finding myself a th350 6 inch tail 2wd, cut about an inch to 1-1/2 off the shaft and put the spacer I have on it.
