700 r4 trans pan ?

Will a say 02 4l60e trans pan fit on a 700r4. I would like to get the drain plug option. Also wich filter will work?

Not without a pick-up extension tube. The filter has to have a slight interference fit with the pan to keep it held in place. Otherwise it may slip out of the pump, either partially or totally...If it partially slips out, you'll have major oil starvation issues and start burning things up. If it falls out completely, you'll have no movement whatsoever. If you come up with an extension tube of the correct diameters and length, you can run the 700R4 filter in a 4L60E deep pan...

Why not weld or bolt in a drain plug?

These aluminum pans are awesome. In addition to having a drain plug, the thick rigid gasket rails prevent leaks. The pans also hold more fluid, which along with the aluminum's heat dissipation, keeps the fluid cooler. Win, win! You might be bale to find one for less money.

4L60=700R4; GM simply changed the naming convention in the early 90s so yes any 700R4, 4L60 or shallow-pan from a 93-97 4L60E will work on any year 700R4.
