Here is the time. These usually go on sale once a year at Harbor Freight for half price. I think its Dec. 31 - Jan 4th Only. A coupon in the HF retail flyer for $24.99. You can't beat these things and they will give you enough lift to work the square body trucks safely. I have a set and use them all the time. Everyone I know that has 3 tons, are about a waste cuz there is not enough height to use them on truck or SUV's. Go get a set NOW while on sale for $24.99. That's even cheaper than the 3ton are usually.

Like any HF item, it can be hit or miss. I know people that have had these bend on them.

Really??? That would NOT be a good situation! The last thing I want is to have some 3+ ton truck/SUV landing on me because a jack stand bent....

I've broken more late C-man sockets and spread more late C-man wrenches than I care to admit. Love my old stuff, some of my C-man is from the 20s and 30s and still work great. Made when **** was built to last.

Then again, I bought a new set of Mac sockets and broke three right off. Never again. Only Sabina made Mac for me.

And are you sure it wan't the 3ton jack stands? The 6 tons look hella lot stronger, and as I said, the box van isn't light, and with it loaded, it held it up just fine. They didn't even creek or groan and have plenty of height to them. I know they'll work good for squarebodies. I'd get under these any day of the week. I am thinking of getting me another set so I have 4 and one at each corner when I do transmission R&Rs.

I'm definitely kinda skiddish about those jack stands now after what Retro said about them failing.....

I'm thinking he got bad info. Maybe the 3 tons, or they had a semi on them, or they were aluminum. I honestly don't see it happening. These things are tough. I have 2 other buds that have the same set and never had an issue either. One of them uses them on his 33ft Motorhome too.

I have the HF 12 tons. Keep it nice and high when working. I have no doubts about them for the $85 they cost.

Those must be nice. I have not taken at look at them. I had a 25% off coupon I could have used on something like that. Maybe instead of getting me another set of 6 tons, I'll get the 12 tons. I can use the 12 tons up front for my height and stregth since that is where the weight is, and the 6 tons in the back. I only need enough lift to do transmission and transfer case R&R's on my trucks. I don't do R&R for cash. I only do bench trans builds for cash.

I need to get another set. I tried to steal mine back from under my buddies jeep after that prank but they were gone!
