I can get a set of 6“ Lift kit with front and rear spring leaf and shocks out of an K5 Blazer and want it to put into my 1984 K20 Chevy Silverado Pick up. Does anybody know if it will fit and work? Thanks for your help.

Will fit without issue.

Just check the rear spring length.

Mine has 56" rear(some K20 trucks, and Suburbans). Don't seem too common.

Both have 47" front springs.

He for sure has 52" rear springs(measure yours).

Shocks are the same.

Different U-Bolts for your rear. His 10 bolt U-Bolts wont fit your 9.5", or 10.5"(whichever you have).

Sum it up.

Yes it will fit fine.

Measure the rear springs from yours.

New rear U-Bolts if your current ones are short(your current ones look long enough). His will not fit.

Is the 52“ normal sz and 56“ special sz or the 6“ lift one spring leaf sz?

The pictures show not my car it is the blazer with the kit was installed before

52" was the normal size for everything.

Some 3/4 ton trucks, Suburbans, and even 1/2 ton Suburbans got 56" rear springs.

Measure yours from eye to eye following the arch. Are they 52" or 56"?

All blazers had 52" rear springs.

If yours are 52" rear, the whole kit will work fine, except rear U-Bolts.

To help a little, a 52" spring should be 26" from the spring eyes to center pin. On a 56" spring, the front half should be 26" to the center pin and the rear is 30".

Just throwing this out there, but if the springs fit, you might lose some load capacity on the truck. Not sure if that matters for you, but since it was a k20, figured I would bring it up.

It is a K20 but it is not a working horse but at the time it looks like ;)

If the truck is rebuilt then it should be a show truck (Fall guy replica).

It’s a 84 3/4 Ton K20 Long bed. So how can I find out with spring leaf is mounted?! I can’t measure it because it’s on the why from California to me in Germany:confused:

Honestly, unless it is a REAL good price, I would pass. Not to contradict, but thought most 3/4 tons came with 56” rear springs. Your photo also does not show any steering correction. You may just be buying front springs, shocks, and a sway bar drop with that kit.

If I were in your position, I would buy 6 inch front springs, rear 4 inch shackle flip, 2 inch blocks, and corresponding u bolts. For the steering, I would do a drop pitman arm (did crossover, and did not like losing the sway bar), sway bar drop brackets, and extended braided brake lines.

I know it is more of a pain to piece a kit together, but you can chose the ride, keep load capacity, and tune it more to your truck/style. And offroad design is a great company to help you get all your parts!

Some 3/4 tons got the 56"(But I have seen many many more 52" than 56").

Raised steering arm is better for over a 4" lift/crossover is the best.

I have never had a sway bar on the front of any square Chevy. You must have other issues.

Crossover over a sway bar any day of the week.

You dont hit many trails do you?

If the price right, then take a chance to have 52" springs. Sell it if you have 56". That easy.

I used to hit more trails, but as time went on had less time to do so. My front end felt looser with the crossover steering (new king pins, bearings, box, etc). Once I went back to stock, my steering felt tighter, and I felt I had more control of the truck. Putting the sway bar back on definitely made a difference as well. I also went down to a 4” lift because I was using it more as a truck instead of a wheeler.

My K20 had 52" rear springs stock. When I did my shackle flip I changed to 56" rear springs.

Technically you can drill out the rivets on your stock shackle bracket and move them to accommodate either length spring- then bolt it back in instead of the factory rivets. A bit of work but inexpensive.

The adapter for sway bar are included and the steering arm will be include too if he gets a normal one at the junkyard.

Is there any data base that provide which components came with the truck about VIN. On German cars we can find out with parts are on car as they came out of the factory. Every parts dealer can find out that.

Here is my data card with VIN and options
