Yes, really. Take a look on eBay bruh. I once bought a good working 700r4 from a 89 Burb with a 241C for $150. All I needed was the Transmission core. I sold the Tcase adapter for $80 on eBay, and sold the Tcase with the VSS that someone needed badly for $175.
Had it listed for $200. The guy flat told me how bad he needed it, how long he been looking for it and knew $200 was a steal, but I need help man, I'm broke as hell and wonder if you'd be willing to take $150? I told him, I'd have loved to have kept this but I'm broke as hell and I'm only selling this to pay the electric bill and a bag of dog food so I'll help us both and take $175, and that would give me enough for the electric bill, a bag of dog food and a pack of smokes. I knew the guy wasn't lying about being broke, but I wasn't either. I got 3 more emails, people ready to come get it right now from the time he got there to get it and left. I'd have gotten $200 out of it easy at that time.
But, point is, do keep your eye open for parts. Some are gold and many aren't aware. That guy was tickled to get my $150 and haul that junk off out of his storage unit to get the wife off his ass. He even told me, man this has to go, price is negotiable, I said you help me load it, I won't even argue buddy, all I need is the transmission, and I'm selling the Tcase for $150 to get my cash back anyway so I'm good with $150. Then I got down to nut cuttin' broke again, and made $105 profit plus kept the transmission I needed for FREE. I've done things like this time and time again. Most of my trucks are FREE by this point in the deals I've scored and the parts I sold, so what I've kept all I have is my time involved. Then parts pretty much supported me during some bad bad times.
