Hey guys. Iv had this big block sitting in my garage for several years now and Iv decided Im not going to do anything with it after all. I did a little research on it and found out its a late 70s block which makes it either a Mark IV or VI (I don't remember). I bought the motor bored .060 over and it comes with a set of bare cast iron heads. Motors been covered up, sitting indoors. Does have a small bit of surface rust in one of the heads. Im sure it would clean up just fine.

$500 obo - Willing to deliver for a small fee within reasonable distance!

Yep, somebody does. It's .060 over. Add a $1600 BALANCED rotating forged stroker crank, H Beam rods and .18cc dome forged pistons kit and have a Nitrous 496 cu in motor that will easily make 500hp on the motor and 700hp with the bottle and button !!! That should net a light half ton squarebody in he the high 11's low 12's with a locker or spool rear end on slicks or drag radials.

That's with the right, heads, cam, intake and exhaust of course too.

When you mention this block is .060 over, do you mean it's a fresh bore as in just out of the machine shop and ready to build, or is it used and has been tore down? Have you looked to see if it's it's 2 bolt or 4 bolt for sure? All the Main caps there in their respective position? Are the main caps marked?

What is the cast # on the bare head cores? Honestly, now days bare head cores just aren't worth much since by the time you bought all new valves, vavle guides, guide plates, springs and keepers, you can buy a set of of aluminum aftermarket ready to bolt on and haul ass for less money.
BUT.... If someone has a set of cast iron heads that cracked from an overheat and yours not cracked, then they can transfer all their valvetrain to your good cores. So I think I'd find those cast #'s on the heads and post them up too.

Iv owned this block for approx. 5 years so its not straight out of the machine shop fresh, but it hasn't been assembled/ran since machining. Ill run out to the garage and get all the numbers and such and let ya know

Ok here we go. I believe the block # is:
3999289
With other numbers:
C22-78

And the heads:
3933148
With other numbers:
2254
CM4T
M Truck

The heads look like square bore on the intake and oval on the exhaust lol
