It’s a 407 guys. Lol when this one blows then I’m gonna build the tall deck. Cam specks as follows...
Intake duration [email protected] .560 lift
Exhaust duration [email protected] .580 lift
110 lobe separation intake centerline 106
7/16 chromoly push rods
Stamped roller tip rockers
3200-6200 it’s a retro fit roller out of the box XR300HR
10.5:1 compression ported big oval 96cc heads
Forged domed pistons(I didn’t build the bottom end)
Forged L78 crank
Majorly opened up Perfomer 2.0 with a 3/4” open spacer
Locked billet HEI timing depends on fuel quality
750 double pumper with all the choke **** surgically removed off the top
NGK plugs
3000stall converter
Th400 with a Transgo 400 1-2 kit
I think that’s it I’m not hiding anything lol it’s nothing super special it just sounds it lol. I’ve never driven anything with this engine in it to know how it’s gonna act. The trans was in my 67 Chevelle super solid shifting chirped 2nd. The engine was too but the hydraulic flat tapper cam started to eat it’s self so I pulled the engine for a few upgrades and sold it as a roller.

Are you planning to dyno it?

C'mon @Honky Kong jr spill the beans. Enlighten us on your engine. It sounds like a sweet setup. I'm putting together my 496 package now, and insight is much appreciated.[/QUOTE

Thanks J,
That cam is a little steep for grunt and pulling. Crazy lift, which comes with roller lifters I guess.
Gosh I thought you had a 496 going... well, you SHOULD have a 496!

We're just going to have to start our own conversation on the merits and direction building a 496.
I'm interested in my cam choice... getting on with big cubes kind of changes the game rules a bit, as I'm beginning to understand.
And to make my case more interesting, I will be using propane. Hmm wtf, my font just changed on me...

It’s in a mud truck, it isn’t gonna pull anything it’s gonna get foot braked at about 3k and shifted at 6 probably only gonna need 2ndgear kinda sighing I would of built a glide for it.

I dont have numbers for it yet, I have to swap the efi system to work with the 1000 cfm tbi I have for it.
The one Engine builder I know that knows exactly what I got and the measurements as he took them and has done many dyno pulls at the Crower shop on stuff he’s built and others they built (cool ass 1500hp stuff and a lot of circle track stuff) says I should be conservatively 480-510 hp and yes I know a dyno is the great truth sayer but you can correct it to what you want it to read... the dyno that is lol

I would rather have more cubic inches but I had this engine and the crank out of a tall deck 427 so it got put together and put in the truck. We shall see how the baby big block does. Lol like my info says lil BB 407

Looking forward to seeing details and pics of your transmission swap. I am strongly considering a 4L80e behind my 454 tbi after the start of the new year. The microsquirt controller looks like a pretty straight forward standalone unit that should make installation pretty easy, although a little on the pricey side. My biggest issue is going to be adapting my Figure 8 pattern NP205 to the back of the transmission (cost effectively). Good luck. Keep us posted.
