I imagine that the year & model would play a role in whether or not it is possible. I just had 285/75s put on the stock 16x6.5 wheels that came on my 84K30. These measure out to about 33x11.2” The shop that mounted them said that that is the max size for that wheel. My truck is stock height and the tires do not rub.

Ok. Well my truck is lifted but I like the look of the stock wheels and hub caps. I currently have a set of 16.5's on it but I really dont like the wheels so I'm looking to go a different route. This is what I have on it now.

I don’t daily those tires though. But they do work I had them on for a few months straight. No issues. They do look a little ballooned and I do have to run a little lower pressure for a good contact patch.

I believe I read on here that some 16.5s were 9.75”. That would definitely be wide enough to mount a 12.5 tire.

Also, I just learned about that USA-1 plate (in Craig’s post) and feel compelled to pick one up. An original stamped steel one though.

Six of my square bodies ran 16.5 x 9.75 wheels with either a 12.5 or 15" wide tire. Hard part is finding a 33"+ tire for under $300. That's why I went 16x10 this time.

My truck is running my original USA-1 Plate I purchased from a Chevy dealer in 1986. I have a NOS one for when I repaint it. The plate is actually stamped aluminum.

I bought a set of Patagonia Milestar mud tires a year and a half ago for somewhere baround $600

Sure your not buying Goodyear or BFGs for that price but there plenty of budget 33s that seem to have come on the market the last few years. I do agree seems like 5 years ago there were very few choices.

I don't daily drive and the tires will most likely need to be replaced due to age before I swear them out. The ATs I took off were like 30-40% tread and just replaced cause I was worried one would blow out while towing across the state. They were like 15 years old.

I have 33s on my factory rallys and I have to lower the pressure a good bit to get a complete contact patch cause it balloons the tread side
