So I was just looking into buying my 40 gal tank and noticed something. The 40 gal tank from Spectra Premium sold by Rockauto says it's for carbureted engines, the 31 says Electronic Fuel Injection. Should I chance the 40 gal tank or look elsewhere? Anyone have any prior experiences?

I know for a fact you can get the 40gal also in an injection tank with the baffles and sump for an electric fuel pump. I pulled one of a 91 with TBI 350. Just be sure to get a tank for an 87-91 Burb since they were TBI.

My search was for an '87. I'll search for a '90. It's probably the same part number but just to be sure.

Also, what would you guys recommend for an inside tank sealer? I haven't searched for any threads on this yet, it just popped into my head lol

Just checked the Spectra website and says "w/pan in tank". So I'm assuming it is the correct baffled one.

Answers my question, I'm gonna put the 40g tank from my 87 parts burb in my "K5ton", was wondering if it fit... If it didn't, I'd make it fit.

So I've decided to do my tank swap today. Running into a problem. The fuel filler on the '78 is 1-3/8" and the fuel filler on the '87 tank is 1-3/4". Without using pipe fittings does anyone know how to adapt the 2 hoses? No rush, I can't install the tank because I don't have the 1-3/4" Fuel filler hose yet. I've poked around online and found fillernecksupply.com but they don't have that size adapter. What do other people do that swap the '87 tanks into an older truck?

Will a 1-3/4" filler from a '87 bed fit the '78 bed? You might be able to get a radiator hose with the two sizes.

I was thinking of getting the '87 fuel filter neck but I'm not sure if it has provisions for the old style fuel gas cap. I don't want one of those plastic clicky things lol I like my metal one.
