3" Body Lift Question

I bought the Performance Accessories 3" body lift for my 1986 Chevy K10 4x4. Besides what came with the kit what else will I need? I talked to a shop about having them install it and they told me I needed some kind of bushing and radiator extender and a few other things. Does this sound right or should everything that came with the kit be what I need.

For a 3" I think you will need steering and trans spacers too...

Why do you need a 3" BL?

Like Jerry said, got to mod the trans shift linkage and steering shaft. Extend the hoses on the fuel fill and vent. Radiator mounting brackets. Then it screws up the fan shroud alignment. Bumpers will look funny. Got to move them up. That makes the motor 3" lower under the hood so more of a bitch to work on. I put 3" body lifts on a few old Dodge trucks and a Olds Cutlass, lol.....

It is, and it's a learning experience.

The cons of a body lift far outweigh the pros, of which there are only two. Slightly more tire clearance and some things are easier to work on because the gap between the frame and body. But beyond that, the cons are numerous.

A body lift is a last resort! Oh sure its a cheap and easy way to get more tire clearance but not the best. I'm not going to tell you that they are dangerous, thats a matter of opinion. If you install it you will have to cut the bottom of the fan shroud or split it in half and drop the bottom half 3 inches. The trans shifter rod has to be extended 3 inches. The fuel fill and vent hoses will reach but they have to be loosened and allowed to move out a little and then retightened, it will pull the side of the bed in if you forget. I have done a lot of body lifts over the years I think their ugly but I have one on my truck. The front wheels on my truck only have about 2 inches of back spacing and the tires would touch the fenders in a sharp turn didn't want to cut the fenders.
