Can you or have you replaced the output seal on the T case while its in the truck? It's a 208 . The paper work talks about having to cut the seal in pieces and then pulling them out. Mine is leaking enough while the truck sits that its becoming a problem.

I've replaced a few of these. It's just a lip seal, Nothing too special.
#1, Does the slip yoke have play???
If so you need to replace bushing too. Been through this a few times on different rigs.

You can remove the tail housing to do the seal/sleeve/output bearing on a 208 without pulling the case.

Not a terrible job to do. Even a rebearing/reseal job on the whole case isn’t too bad. The worst is the rear bearing for the front output, being a Torrington bearing in a blind bore, bit of a pain to pull. The other thing is I pulled off the chain sprocket and let both rows of loose needle bearings loose into the case… oops.

Exactly. Not a big deal to pull outer cover. Internals should stay with main part of t-case.

Thanks for the replies. It's the front output seal that's leaking. I watched a you tube video. The job looks easy. I'm going to buy the repair sleeve just in case.
