Exactly. Not a big deal to pull outer cover. Internals should stay with main part of t-case.You can remove the tail housing to do the seal/sleeve/output bearing on a 208 without pulling the case.
Not a terrible job to do. Even a rebearing/reseal job on the whole case isn’t too bad. The worst is the rear bearing for the front output, being a Torrington bearing in a blind bore, bit of a pain to pull. The other thing is I pulled off the chain sprocket and let both rows of loose needle bearings loose into the case… oops.
