Is that the truck, in your profile. The red and silver dually?

I would put the stocker back on it.

Plus, the newer bumper are.about as thick as tinfoil. Look ar how quickly they rot away. They're not for "bumping" anymore, they're part of the crumple zone.

No the dually is still completely stock bumper to bumper just got the a/c blowing cold yesterday, the 85 Silverado (blue one) needs a rear bumper, I was backing a small trailer and jackknifed it and kinked the original one.

Ohhhhhhh.... For some reason I thought the question was about the front bumper. Durr!

They mount roughly the same, but iirc, the frame rails are spaced farther apart on the newer truck.

Measure it and build a bracket for it.

Preston ,, Please let us all know how this comes out, by the way, wish I had your front bumper, looks showroom.
Back to the rear bumper, I'm really liken the idea of the corner steps on the newer ones.

I was a dick at the start of this thread.

Not blaming my pills.(Sometimes I am just that).

But to see you so determined is nice.

I apologize, and truly hope it turns out great.

Best of luck, and I am rooting for you.

No problems no harm I’m the one asking for opinions, I’m leaning toward keeping the truck close to stock on the outside not sure I want a steps bumper though. I will post a picture with my final choice soon

If pills affect your mood in a negative way. Discontinue use.

Anyway as far as the bumper its worth trying if its free. One thing is the new bumpers are just for looks and there is a bumper bracket behind thats the actual heft if you get hit. I think on my ford the center part is just plastic...
