113K... now is about when it's going to need wheel bearings, tie rods, struts, plugs/wires, valve cover gaskets, rear heater tubes, water crossover gaskets, water pump, alternator and probably other common things I'm forgetting right now. Half of those things are a real bitch to change, and if someone offered one of those cars to me for free, I'd still have to think about it.

The water pump actually isn't that expensive or hard to do, but it does require a special tool to remove it.

It's not uncommon for them to have tranny problems with some mileage also. Some of that normal wear & tear stuff (like wheel bearings) you could do yourself as needed and save some $$, but I'd definitely make sure the tranny checks out good. They are not cheap to rebuild, and many dealers can't even rebuild them right.

I bought a 1980 Corolla off my neighbor for $50, put $50 worth of timing belt in it and in about 2 hours and was off and running! That thing was awesome, 5-speed rear wheel drive, sipped gas but ran great! Man I miss that car, but I did turn a profit on it when I sold it for $350 + some "goods". Ah the good ole days.
