2" Lift and 33's

I currently have a 4" unknown susp. lift with 33×12.5/15 tires. I would like to get a 2-2 1/2" quality susp. lift. Will I have issues with the 33's on the 2" lift?

Recommendations on the brand of lift?

if the springs are not too soft of a rate and you aren't trying to set RTI records you should be fine.

I have 285/75-16 aka metric 33s and no lift on a 1 ton. my frame height difference would be compensated by your lift, so it probably evens out. even if my tires were a full inch taller, I'd be good.

Those 2" lift springs, pretty flat, flex like noodles.

Wheel width and backspacing will be the biggest determining factor. After that it will be the spring rate and then the terrain you drive on.

Obviously no RTI comps or rock crawling , lol. Just mountain off roading and towing a trailer.

Would HD springs be a good alternative to help spring rate?

I used to run 33sx12 50s with a 2.5" lift. Springs in front blocks in the back and it was fine with a 15x8 aftermarket wheel.

I used to run 2" Tuff Country HD front springs which raised it 3" over stock then settled to around 2.5"-2.75". I had 3" blocks on the rear with 285/75R16 tires.
Wheels were steel 16x8 with 4.25"bs. No rubbing. Even ran chains on them in winter.

I ran the HD springs as I was using the truck to haul weight. Normally they say the HD springs are for a big block, diesel, or a heavy winch bumper.

Right now I'm leaning to the Tuff Country 2" EZ Ride fronts and getting stock rear springs with an ORD shackle flip.

Thoughts?

Using your existing rear springs or ordering new ones? If you buy new ones you might get more lift than you want. And the shackle flip will probably shift the centering of your rear tire in the wheel well.

EZ rides on the front are about the best riding aftermarket springs there are- without going to custom springs.

My 2.5" rear shackle flip with new springs turned out to be 5.5" of lift.

Depends on the bump... 33s can rub if you twist it up.

I ran 33’s with a 2” rough country lift. No issues at all. I ended up going to 35’s with a 4”/2” lift.
