Last week we had a wheel decide it no longer wanted to be used.
It came off the thing when we were driving to a hockey game.
I pulled off the road using the drum and we went and got the wheel and tire from traffic.
The lug holes in the wheel became oval shaped and no longer would hold the lug nuts tight.
The wheels were well used when I got them from my father years ago.
So on Saturday I got to sit at the local Les Schwab for a few hours whilst I put new wheels and tires on it.
They no longer stock 16 inch wheels at all, they have to order them.
I was not interested in waiting for a set, so the dude asked if I would be interested in going up to a 17 inch wheel.
Now, I have been around long enough to remember when 14 inch wheels were normal.
So thinking of having to buy a "big" wheel like that made me a bit nervous.
I say ok, the guy flips open the catalogue and finds something he thinks would look good on it.
Instantly I liked it and asked if they had a set of them.
Yep, they do and happen to be on display.
Perfect-o!
"How much coin?"
They turned out to be waaaaaay cheaper than I figured they would as now that is pretty common size.
Then I had to choose the tires.
I already knew I wanted a semi aggressive looking AT even if it is a grocery getter.
No reason to put a wimpy looking tire on these cool new wheels.
On to the pics of the new stuffs....
