Oh, and the bolt hole in the head should be 3/8-16 thread. I think the hole is close to an inch deep.

I have secured a bolt to use with some warshers and the plans to move teh ground terminals that I temporarily placed on an exhaust manifold bolt , to that correct spot on the cylinder head, tomorrow.
I suspect the borrowed time in that spot is up.. We'll all find out together.
I also intend to revisit the Oxygen Sensors and see how all that PB Blaster has been treatin em. ;)

Maybe they are ready to come out? Maybe more Blaster is in order?

There is all sorts of new parts in there!

New brake pads ...but they are ceramic and are NOT allowed in anything I own...so ima gonna have to swap out for the Performance Friction, because they are the best. IDGAF if these are new or not, the brakes are teh SUCK in this thing and they should be teh pwnnn! Ceramic brake pads are good for my mother, but not my IROC!

When I pulled that wheel the bearing cap kinda came off with it and made a VERY FAMILIAR rattling sound...
Hmmm...ya reckon? One way to find out Ls and Gs. I was also concerned with the "lug nut covers" thinking maybe they were responsible for some rattle.

I do NOT think kindly of them deals and I assure you they are not long for this world. No.

This is a ******* race car there is no room for plastic, vanity, ********, useless, lug nut covers. GTFO.

I don't know WTF i'll do if I fixed both my running problem AND my brake rattle in one hour before work lol.

Your brakes suck huh? Didn't you change the spring in the prop valve a while back?

My '86 still has front pads installed by the previous owner, right before I got the car. They simply do not bite into the rotor and the car is hard to stop... the first time. But once you do two hard stops, the pads heat up and the car can haul down like nobody's business. They must be some kinda race pad.

Yeah maybe since they don't work until they get hot...bucket.

That post is the beginning of my brake works.. (i've never even taken the wheels off!) and I bought that spring for the future...

On a side note....and I consider this news as VERY ******* STRANGE , I asked Gary Camaro about the brake spring mod/rear brake deal and he never heard of it. Srsly?

Everybody has a speciality and mine is brakes. I will make the world's best brake job on this IROC, don't doubt.
That said, my tellng you the brakes "suck" is kind of subjective. Lol!

I am itching to get on the console project and talks have begun about acquiring a black one because I ain't putting this gray deal on my black carpet.

I wish Dr.Suave would have bought GRAY carpet...ALL of the gray interior parts are in nice shape! But again, I bought he car so I can mess with it...it just sucks lol.That's NOT exactly what I had in mind...


Ofc GARY wants me to switch to black interior but my gray parts are super common and not worth anything to him... Dude says he only has "4 or 5 cars worth of black interior"...so fml , i'll prolly switch. :(

I'll take the front brakes apart and start over next week...

I am ALSO itching to get on the exhaust. It sucks! too as I have previously mentioned. I found the cat-back in the yard Gary was talkin about with the rectangle, LT1 tips and he wants $80 but it's got a stinking MagnaFlow on it TOO, but I want it to sound good, so i'll likely hold out for a FLOWMASTER.

$80 seems like a lot for cast aluminum exhaust tips PLUS my exhaust guy retired so there is NO TELLIN what i'll have to pay NOW to get it fixed up right....I was with the Expert Muffler since I was 23? and had he red '73 Camaro.

I dunno, I was around these cars for years before I was aware of the spring swap deal. But I was aware that a drum brake prop valve could do the same trick.

I'll happily take a spring and be thankful also. Address incoming.

I have been not happy with stock 3rd gen brakes. The feel, the pedal travel, etc... Was never sure if it is just my car, but it will lock up front wheels if pressed hard, just with not much feel and too much travel

I had poor feel while it was drum rear, and same with rear pbr disk swap. I know that couple of autox runs is good enough to smoke the fronts on my car, so they are not great regardless. When it was drum rear, I did not complain about them. But I think they were the same, but my standards started to change instead. My stealth could always outstop the TA while feeling much better with it's basic base model brakes.

One of those things that can't tell unless I get to drive a known good factory setup.
