I have to replace the original tanks on my 1985 C10. Will the 1987 TBI tanks work with a carb? Gives me the option to have the tanks able to accept fuel injection if I ever decide to go that route. Seems like they should work??

It would work. Put the fuel sender for a carb in it and would be same as 85 tank except baffle inside.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if the rubber fill hose is the same size for both tanks?

It should be the same. Installed an 87 stepside tank on 85 stepside and everything fit right up.

Going to a FI in-tank pump with a carb MAY require you to install a regulator.
WTF do I know. Someone with more beans than me on this needs to chime in.

Carb sending unit fits FI tank.
Or can change to FI sending unit and pump, but would need to add wiring to control it and a fuel pressure regulator

Did you install the '87 tanks? If so, what sending units did you use?

I have a replacement '87 tank, and the sending unit that works for a carb, three ports, 0-90ohm signal, the float gets down to 1/2 fulll tank then stops, resting on the baffles, gauge stuck at 1/2 full. I haven't found one that reads correctly with the baffles in the tank. Is there such a unit?

Thx,
BR
