In a previous thread I was looking for a manifold back exhaust system with a dual rear split ,I received all the info on it .looking into it further NYS emissions is exempt after the vehicle is 25 years old .i am now looking to do headers to the tailpipes .my question is has anyone removed the full exhaust system from their TBI truck ? Manifolds, pollution pump cats.etc....Is there any issues with the truck running ??check engine lights?? Does it effect it in any way ??
Thanks in advance

You need to retain the oxygen sensor. Personally, I like to drill a hole into the left collector and weld in a bung for the O2 sensor. You can buy the bungs for less than 10 bucks from Summit or Jeg's. Or you can buy collector reducers that already have O2 bungs in them, but then you need to plug the unused bung on the right side.

thanks to the OP - I've been thinking the same regarding my burb. I eventually want to replace the stock exhaust manifolds and put a full system on. The big girl is just way to queit as it currently sits and needs to sound more like a V8
