I have a 1987 crew cab dually one ton with 454. My oil pressure gauge is always pegged high. It never drops. I have unplugged the sending units etc. Even melted a hole in the gauge cluster lens and moved the needle to zero. As soon as the key is turned on the gauge pegs again.

Looking for advice on whats up with this

Electric gauges typically peg when their ground wire (the wire that runs from them, out to the sender) is shorted directly to ground. If you know where the sender is, remove the wire from the sender and start tracing it all the way to the gauge. Maybe it's rubbed through somewhere, either against something metal, or against another wire.
