does anybody know what wheel spacers I need for the 14 bolt dully axle? The axle is in a 87 v30 1 ton cab and chassis. I was told the cab and chassis axle are not as wide as the normal 14 bolt. Thanks.

What specifically are you looking to do? I know you said you you wanted to add a regular bed. Are you wanting to run dually fenders? Your truck probably has the narrow 14 bolt. If you're wanting to use dually fenders, finding a Dana 70 that was in standard C/K30 would possibly be cheaper than buying spacers.

This add is for a Dana 70 in the Roseville area for $300.

Okay this is what im thinking. Keep the flatbed, add a couple spacers to bring the wheels out closer to the edge. Why would they put the narrow rear axle in the cab and chassis? I know its the 14bolt full floater so thats cool.

I'm trying to picture the super long stock bed dually without the dually wheel wells. That would be something else. In the end that's what I might be doing. First things first buying a parts truck!

I had a CTS-V and wanted to have a spare. I used Wheel Adapters USA for the spacer I needed to clear the front caliper when using the spare. This is the easiest way to move the duals out with the flat bed. I know most tow trucks of the era benefitted from the narrow rear so they could get into more spaces. Other than visibility purposes for box style trucks, I'm not sure why they used it.

If you decide to shorten the truck, here's a thread to do that.
