1986 Rare Build sheet? Tell me what you think!

Hi all. I am new to the group!
I purchased a 1986 K10 from my dad, who chose all of the specs when he ordered it in 1985. It currently has 54000 original miles.
From my research, I am yet to find another truck with similar specs! So I’m curious if it’s fairly rare, or more common than I think.
In short: fully loaded 1986 k10
Stepside
Manual Transmission
6.2L Detroit Diesel

I am going to say right up front that I have never personally seen or even heard of a stepside with the 6.2 Diesel. That alone sets this truck apart. The MM4 Transmission is relatively unusual as well, they made them but they certainly weren't "common".

I'd say it's a pretty uncommon truck being a step side + 6.2 + 4spd. Very clean, beautiful truck.

stepside with the 6.2 Diesel

There's an ad on YT from GM (1982-ish) that has a yellow diesel Stepside out wheeling the hillside. I'll try to find it and post. I have only seen one SB diesel and it was fleetside.

Unique. There may be another one somewhere, but, like this one, I'd have to see it to believe it. You better save that one. Very nice looking truck.

I haven't seen a short box stepside diesel 4x4 before, but I do know that our family business had 3 or 4 K20 long box stepside 6.2 diesels with SM465 manuals. Pretty sure they were '82 and '83 models. We also had a couple 5.7 diesel stepside long box pickups, one a '78 and one a '79. My dad should have some pictures of them, I will post some if I find them.

Here is one of the 6.2 pickups when it was brand new in the summer of '82 in a parade. My dad is the guy sitting on top of the headache rack. He was pretty proud of that new Ditchwitch trencher on the trailer....we still have the trailer, but it doesn't look quite that shiny anymore! I have seen this picture many times and just noticed the Steiger tractor following. Don't see many of them around anymore!
