You can probably use the driveshaft you took out, measure just to be sure. Truck needs to be on the ground or jackstands under the axle. Axle needs to not be hanging, truck weight on the axle. Then pick out whoever onlines instructions you want to follow. I've heard Dennys driveshafts is a good one. I stick a yoke all the way in the transmission then pull it out 3/4 inch and measure center of the u joint cap front and rear. He!l stick the drive shaft you have now in place. Is there room for it to push in 3/4 of an inch could be a little more . As long as most of the yoke is engaged and it won't bottom on the transmission talishaft when you hit a bump you are good. 700 and th350 are real close in diamension, and people swap 350s in place of 700s all day long with no driveshaft mods. You probably are okay. But check it. A little too much sticking out is better than not enough. The truck originally had a th350 with the short tail shaft housing (6 in)and it had a one pice drive shaft
That doorman that measures 75” how are they measuring that? I have an 84 c10 with the 6” th350 I need a shaft for and I’m measuring u joint to u joint 72”. But I’m using a 5” slip yoke pulled out 1”. It says I need that same 75” shaft. But just seems like it would be long.Welcome from Austria.
What was the original transmission and driveshaft combination? One piece driveshaft?
If the truck was equipped with a th350 with a 9" tailhousing it would be the same length as the 700r4 and the original driveshaft fits.
I have good experience with the dorman driveshaft if you are looking for stock replacement. Description says 75"

Second option is to measure it, search the net for instructions.
