1982 454 What does this relay do?

Trying to figure out what this relay on the drivers side valve cover does. The service manual just lists it as a switch asm

Is that asm or ASi4? At least thats what im seeing. Ask @Honky Kong jr, hes fluent in BBC...

Fluent in ripping that **** off lol @1987 GMC Jimmy or @chengny would be your best bet. I’ve seen them on the valve covers but that stuff gets removed and tossed.

The 85 454 I had, had it on valve cover. I still have the covers it might still be on it lol

I don’t know what the hell that is. It looks like something out of the P30 service manual, though, and my copy’s not with me. Is this harness from a camper? Have you checked the relay for a GM part number? I don’t think it’s the fuel pressure relay because those go on the edge of the doghouse by your right foot, and they didn’t get them until mid-1984. IIRC, there was an air injection relay, but I don’t know if that’s what that is.
