Picked this up a few weeks ago and started ordering parts. Also building a 355 for it. The 350 that's in it kinda sucks. I went with a 4" full spring lift and 33x12.5R15 Dick Cepek Mud Country tires.

As much as I hate climbing into lifted trucks, I gotta say those old round eyes do look good with 4" of lift.

Round eyes were meant to be lifted with meaty tires.

I though the same thing after I got it installed. I'm thinking the original springs were a little soft. This weekend I replaced all the u-joints in the front and rear drive shafts. I had one bad on the front and the centering ball was bad. The rears looked ok but I put them in anyway. I think I found the main vibration problem. The slip yoke on the rear drive shaft has a lot of play up and down. It also has about an inch of the splines showing after the lift. Anyone know where I can get a longer driveshaft?

WOW! You can actually see splines at the slip yoke ? Oh its a 2 piece shaft, right?

And I would bet money that you got 6" springs, probably just a mess up from the supplier, but none the less those are 6" springs for sure!

What did you do to correct the drag link angle?

The rear drive shaft is a one piece shaft. The slip yoke at the front of the shaft is warn out and is way short. I'm still looking around for options on the rear shaft. The front shaft looks ok but I may end up having to do something there also.

The kit came with a new steering arm. Not much fun to change out.

I did find a place to build a new driveshaft. http://www.inlandtruck.com/products/drivelines.php
They quoted me $350 for a new slip yoke, longer tube and balancing. Does that sound about right? This is the first time I have had to do anything like this.

Ya that's about right. I paid $400 once for my front Double Cardan shaft.

Ya that's definitely a 6" lift!

I was just told the other day by another member here that a 2005 Dodge front drive shaft is a little longer then ours and uses 1350 u joints which is an upgrade over ours 1310 I think. A longer from factory drive shaft would work perfect for a 6" lift and Dodge used the same transfer cases so the ring yoke should be the same. It would definitely be worth checking out.

GM apparently used 2 different length slip joint shafts on the front shaft. I have only ever seen the short one factory on a square. So I had a drive line shop order the longer slip shaft and used that to lengthen my stock front DC shaft. It is still a bit on the short side but definitely better then what I had.
