Most of the frames I've seen have are stamped twice and I've seen the stamps in 3 places. On frame in front of front control arms/ axle centerline, under the cab and under the bed behind rear cab mount. Usually all on the passenger side.

There are several places the vin is located on the frame, and it probably changes by year. mine had one on top near the steering box picture #1, and on top of the frame under the cab pic 2, there is also a date and serial number of the frame on both sides behind the gas tank mounting area pic 3, but like I said that could change year to year or location of the plant that built the truck. good luck

The partial VIN is up on top of the horizontal web of the rail, not the vertical side.
