So about a month ago, I was able to finish the bed. Used the Mar-K oak bed kit, which turned out great.

Besides the motor and trans, all I have left are some little issues here and there and the installation of the Vintage A/C. Hopefully get back on it in a couple of weeks or so.

Boy- I hope that’s not the case. Lol. I purchased a 2” drop cross member to run. I assume that gives the allotted clearance. Have not test fit yet. Now I’m nervous.

FWIW I installed a 700r4 using the stock crossmember on my 79 with no clearance issues.

Wow looking great! I also went with the 700R-4 and 410 gears, rebuilt trani with corvette upgrade. Works great other than shifting to early when getting into it. Gotta figure that out.

I went with the same, 700R, 4-10's and then doing a 383 w/ Fi-Tech. Should come out clean, I hope.

Also, I think earlier in this build thread, I shared a photo of what the engine would resemble, but after some more black accents, I decided to do a black engine with some chrome and Orange valve covers/air cleaner. So this is the 383 Stroker I’ll start with from a base. It looks great.

my only reasoning was this builder has had expierience and success on the Fi-TECHs. But, as you mentioned, I’ve heard good things about all (3). Fi-Tech, Holley & Edelbrock
