I was at a friends house tonight and spotted this truck in her yard. I asked “what’s up with that old truck” and she asked if I wanted to buy it. She said it was her grandpas and they don’t use it anymore. Her uncle owns it. She said she’d sell it for $500 but mentioned that her uncle threw out a number of $1200. I didn’t drive the truck, but I did start it up. It fired up and sounded nice. My friends husband did mention that the brakes lock up. So I’ll have to look into that.

Now I am here, looking for info before I pull the trigger. I know nothing about these trucks. From the little bit of research I have done, I believe this is a 77-80’ with a 454 big block.

Anything I should be aware of before buying this truck? I had zero plans of buying another vehicle, but for $500-$1200, why not. At the very least, I can use it to plow my long ass driveway in the winter.

Holy ****! That truck is what’s referred to as no rust in Minnesoooota. Lol
$1200 is a steal if it goes forwards and backwards and doesn’t sound like a rod is about to come out. And probably a deal even if it does.
Even with the whiskey dents.

I’d pass. Let someone else buy it....(as I’m looking up flight costs to Minnesota as I type!)

Looks like it has had a repaint at some point. Since you are in MN, check for bondo over rust repairs on the cab corners, rockers, and around the wheels. If they are all solid and the floor boards and cab mounts look good (crawl underneath and check), then I’d say go for it. Cool pickup for sure!

I'm going to say 1980 based on the headlight bezels.

Once you have the VIN we can tell for sure.
