    Vapor lock or something else?

I have a Quadrajet carbed 454, basic factory setup: stock mechanical fuel pump with heat shield-wrapped rubber fuel line (away from the block), factory-style tank and factory style sending unit with 2 fuel lines running the frame rail of the truck. Two issues/questions: - When the outside...

    Rough Idle and Stalling

Apologies in advance, this may be rather long. I have a 1984 K10 that has a rough idle and stalls. I’m not an expert at this by any means, but I bought the truck 3 years ago and have done all maintenance and repairs, except for rebuilding the transmission, which I felt was well beyond my...

Oops. Probably shouldn't have done that.

So looking for a little help here. My ride has been a wiring nightmare since I bought it but that's besides the point. After doing some wiring on the NSS I had the bright idea of unplugging the 5 pin fuel switch under the dash as I repainted another to replace it with. Not thinking through that...

Spark, Fuel, Crank but won't start

Hello everyone forgive me if this is in the wrong place. Me and my pawpaw recently pulled his dads 76 K10 out of storage after almost 10 years. Threw a new tank, sending unit, fuel filter on and fired up like it had never stopped. After a couple trips around town after warming up the truck would...

    Twin Fuel Tank Idea

I know this has been discussed previously, but I couldn’t find the thread. The idea of having 2 tanks that are both feeding the motor, to eliminate the need for a tank switch, has been knocking around my melon for quite some time and I think I came up with a solution. I drew a quick diagram...

    four gas analysis

I recently had a four gas analysis done on my 84 c10. The results stated I had lots of hydrocarbons in my exhaust (unburnt fuel). I have a 4.1L 250 with 40,000 miles. I recently replaced my spark plugs and wires. I have the original distributor. Does anyone know what I could do to reduce these...

    Fuel Tank Delete

I've got an 85 C20. I've got duel fuel tanks and I want to get rid of them and put a transfer tank on the flatbed as my only fuel point. Has anyone ever done this? Any pointers? This is my first old square body that I've really worked on. Thanks alot!

    Horrendous gas mileage issue.

So I have a 1985 gmc k2500 with 4x4, 350 and an edelbrock 1406 on it currently. I had a 1906 till they kept failing. Anyways this truck gets about 5 mpg, which I know is gonna be common, but I feel its still excessive. Any thoughts how to fix it? Note 1. I got this truck when my dad passed...

Engine cuts off when I press on the gas pedal

I have a 78 k10 with a 350. For some reason, when I press on the gas, the engine cuts out. Is this caused by the fuel/air ratio, the choke, or something else?

    My frankenstein

Hello all, I pulled a beautiful 1985 k10 305 5L out the field and am currently trying to get it started. I am out of ideas. I replaced the battery, plugs and wires. She turns over but wont start. The mechanical pump is pumping fuel. I am out of ideas. Does anyone have any ideas? Could a bad...

350 Cutting out at High Idle?

Hi, I have a 1976 c10 Scottsdale I've been driving for about 2 years with no issue. However the past few months it will intermittently cut in and out when revved up. It isn't like normal sputtering, imagine someone who has the accelerator down, and releases it, and puts it down again the the...
