MagnaFlow vs Flowmaster vs Straight Pipes

I was going to say that when it crossed 400 posts but the drone from the header mounted Super Trapps distracted me.

MagnaFlow vs Flowmaster vs Straight Pipes

Why do I have the feeling this thread is going to be evidence on a future episode of "To Catch a Predator" ???

Ready to build some real power?

In keeping with the original spirit and intent of this thread I have decided to mill some phenolic spacers and adapt this wicked race system to my big block. The intake ports on the CrossFire should help the peanut port heads flow better above 6000rpm. :emotions122::emotions133::Angry: :manos:

    Blue engine?

The L98 in my 89 GTA was painted lime green by the previous owner. Fsmf. The 383 block I am reassembling is purple. Fml.

Peanuts, Big Ovals, and Square Ports, oh my!

The peanuts are for a towing engine. They just need to be cleaned and lubed, safety check. The 781s are "someday maybe" although I may use them on the tow engine. The Squares are for the 496ish in the GTA. They are a bit small for the 632 which will get some big Profilers, someday. Trying to...

    Th400 to 12bolt 5lug driveshaft options

If you were closer i woukd trade you the slip yoke pieces for the bolt on stuff. If you are doing a one piece driveshaft, get one from a 1970s GM full size car and have it shortened. I got mine from a 76 caddy and had it shortened. Be careful, the TH375 has a th400 pan but the output is th350...

Peanuts, Big Ovals, and Square Ports, oh my!

Valve spring fun! Left is Edelbrock double for hydraulic roller, center is chevy LS7 crate motor double with damper for solid flat tappet, right is sbc stock vortec.

Peanuts, Big Ovals, and Square Ports, oh my!

I was watching glue dry so I set some big block heads up on the bench for a fashion show comparison. On the left we have -360 peanut ports, in the middle -781 oval ports, and on the right is an aluminium large square port. Notice the heart shaped combustion chamber on the square ports.

Ready to build some real power?

135-165 hp, and yes this came off an 82 Indy Pace Car Camaro. I parted it out 20+ years ago. The title was held by a buy here/pay here that went bankrupt and at the time there was no legal way to clear the title.

Ready to build some real power?

Idk, but this thing would struggle to support 200hp. LoL Let me get a pic of the intake ports.

MagnaFlow vs Flowmaster vs Straight Pipes

I miss my 70s Trans Ams with the Walker Turbo Sonics, no h pipe, and those glorious chrome turn downs. It didn't matter if it was a 400 Poncho or 403 olds, they sounded sweet. Yesterday I stopped by the muffler shop to get a quote on replacing the pipes and installing my Flowmaster Bigblock...

Ready to build some real power?

I figure this bad boy with some double humps and a 3/4 race cam ought to make about 490-507 horsepressures.

    69-72 blazer vs 70-72 jimmy

I have a set of the gmc headlight buckets but that doesn't help any does it? And I am using my 72 front end on the c10 Sub. The others are correct, rad support and everything forward. I want to use an earlier solid bumper and hide my turn signals. Looks cleaner imo.

    Can you tell / decode

CNB and CNR are both 1970 350, but I wouldn't trust that block stamping without a VIN match to verify original vehicle. The last character looks altered, even for 1970 GM assembly line at beer:30.
