1987 GMC Jimmy 4x4 6" lift body mount bushing replacement

<Nailed it. I used poly spacers and they installed very well.

New steering pump and still leaks power steering fluid. Do I need a different pump or Lucas stop leak?

I would consider a new rubber seal ring inside the cap. Do you have air in the system? I have a '65 Thunderbird that will was shooting fluid out of the cap until I remedied it, it churns like crazy in there with air bubbles.

Finally got extended/suitable emergency brake cables onto my rear wheels.

Forgot to mention but I did have to shorten the main cable. I used one of these meant for VW throttles. The barrel is the same size as our cables use, you just need to cut off the rod part and drill the hole out a bit to acommodate a bigger cable...

    Parking Brake Mechanism Question

I thought the same. It's all held together by some weird connector that is cross-slotted on both sides like a phillips head but I venture is actually stamped like the hood hinges. I'd say if it functions leave well enough alone!

Finally got extended/suitable emergency brake cables onto my rear wheels.

Finished up my e-brakes last night. Used the originally intended cable from the pedal assembly but had to do some fabbing after that. Since the cables I used from the rear brakes were threaded shafts and not cable ends I chopped the slip connectors and welded in a simple steel bar with a 90...

    Steering stabilizer K30 install

Agreed, didn't get a pic last night but mine is flush with the bar.

    Steering stabilizer K30 install

My apologies, completely missed the actual question. I will look at mine tonight but do believe that stud seats all the way into the drag link. More to follow!

    Parking Brake Mechanism Question

Just had mine apart last night! Not sure about the spring in question, but I was able to find a replacement for the other at one of my more stocked hardware stores. As long as it it tight when installed and stretches the entirety of the travel you'll be fine.

    Steering stabilizer K30 install

I can take a peek at mine tonight, just installed it recently as well. At any rate I would think there is some play there as long as you keep an eye on lose play every once in awhile. I've removed shocks that looked damn near like they were at 45 degree angles!

Finally got extended/suitable emergency brake cables onto my rear wheels.

It may have originally, but nothing was left. I swapped to a 14 bolt axle so really just making it up as I go. I can update here as I go!

Gotcha. These are the same though, they were being sold on Ebay by Holley.

Finally got extended/suitable emergency brake cables onto my rear wheels.

First this is in large part thanks to member "Legopneumatic" who helped me figure this all out! My truck is extremely lifted and the stock e-brake cables coming from the backing plate were unusable. Tonight I finally got around to fixing this. The cables I used are Raybestos part #BC93256...

When I bought mine they actually had them for several year ranges as well as AC and non-AC models. May want to cruise the site!

Very nice bezels from Holley website for cheap

Waited u til I installed it to make a recommendation. They have ac and non-ac bezels for around 40 bucks. If you search the part number you'll fine them being sold by them on Ebay with free shipping! Very nice bezels and everything lined up as it should. I'll share pics tomorrow...

    E-brake options after BIG lift?

Wow, great feedback thanks! I like the idea of the 85 cables you showed and could get matching lengths for each side depending on how much I need. The end that goes into the axle looks like it is push in rather than the bolt-on bracket mine has, but I believe I could make it work by fabbing...

    E-brake options after BIG lift?

I was thinking that too, and if so if they would be strong enough to shave to the proper orientation and still have enough material. And yes, 14-bolt floater with a Dana 60 up front!

    E-brake options after BIG lift?

Any reason a pair of these wouldn't work? Don't recall what things looked like inside the drums for the parking brake. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BGLDFWBT/

    E-brake options after BIG lift?

I have a 205 and live in Missouri. From what I've gathered anything that will stop your vehicle from rolling at idle will work. Never heard of a driveline brake though, will research.

    E-brake options after BIG lift?

Thanks! The sky is the limit for routing cables as the PO only left me the parking brake pedal itself....

    Turn Signal Issues

I just fought this on my '76 K10. Looks like I get to be the first to say it, but check your grounds. I added a frame, motor, cab and bed ground strap and it fixed a lot of these issues. If you are hearing clicking in the relay with turns and 4-ways there is something wrong with either the...

    Steering box lash adjustment etc.

Odd, I just rebuilt a 4wd and 2wd box and didn't have to do any of that. Guess I got lucky!

    E-brake options after BIG lift?

Whoooo those are pricey! Thanks! Wouldn't address the issues at my axle though unless I installed 2 of them.

    E-brake options after BIG lift?

Thanks! It is probably lifted a little over a foot, so would have to be a very noticeable extension.

    E-brake options after BIG lift?

I am trying to find a solution for extending the e-brake cables coming from the rear drums. This is a '78 K10 but I installed 1-ton axles. 1. This truck is lifted VERY high. I've read a lot about getting these for 4-6" lifts but I'm going need more than that. 2. I also would prefer not to do...

    More Washer Pump Questions

Honestly that would be your quickest and cheapest fix. You can get resevoir/pump combos on Amazon for 15 bucks, then you just run power to that pump and pull the wire from your squirter motor to ground it (turn it on). Too easy. Here's a link to one that has everything you'd need...
