After a heck of a lot of 'customising', we got that evap core to fit. Probably 3-5 hours in adjusting, smashing, hammering, fabricating. Definitely not direct fit. It functions great, but form wise... heck no. -

Thanks for the input. About 2 months ago I set up a stock notification email on Rockauto for the correct 86 evap core, and guess what just pinged my inbox! 1 in stock!! So thats ordered, hopefully will do the trick. :) Ill take a look in to the blower wheels, thanks. -

Does anyone know if the evap core from an 88+ will fit the earlier years? LMC list it as the same part from 78-91. Rockauto make a distinction from 88+. The 88+ part is readily available. -

As closure, in the end I went for a Spectra CU730 from Rockauto. Fitted perfectly and works great. It is a plastic radiator (like most modern ones) so I dont expect a massive life expectancy - I am planning to go all aluminium and electirc fans when I up the power in the coming years. Thanks for the input. Boneyards aren't a possibility unfortunately as im in Europe. I will start mailing the belt companies, hopefully they have a solution. Interesting to know that earlier MYs were also equipped with shoulder belts optionally.... I really thought it was 87+. -

Pinstriping is being taken care of, and I have my licence plates :) I've also ordered a wooden/polished steering wheel, and next week I'm looking at new wheels. I'm leaning toward either American Racing Baja or Outlaw II. Both look great.- kapitein
