700r4 TV cable cause acceleration/run away with 6.2?

My son just told me that after driving on the freeway for a while, he will have this intermittent problem: When he lets off the throttle, he feels like the pedal will "suck down" and the truck will accelerate. When he steps on the brake, it will stop. I have not witnessed this problem myself...

Air in fuel lines after sitting over night on 6.2

To close the loop on this for anyone in the future........ struggled with this for a while. Kept getting worse. Decided to swap to a duramax filter. Went with a Dorman piece from Amazon, and couldnt get it to seal. Returned that and went with one from the DMAXX store for a few dollars more...

duramax filter head and wix 33960xe

duramax filter head and wix 33960xe

o ring looks like its fine. This is my first time, and directions say to go until oring makes contact and them make additonal quarter turn or something. My housing feels like it is contact the head before the oring.

duramax filter head and wix 33960xe

when I try to install the fuel filter (which is covered in diesel now, so I dont want to grab since Im clean...) it will mount up fine, but leaks between the filter and filter head where the O-ring is supposed to seal it. I did fill the filter before trying to install, but I cant imagine that...

duramax filter head and wix 33960xe

I just installed these pieces to get rid of the brick since it was leaking air over night. I cannot get the filter to seal against the filter head. Ive cranked it on pretty tight in successive attempts and it continues to leak. google hasnt turned up much to resolve the problem. Its a dorman...

    replacement hydroboost unit?

thanks for the link. I cannot find one locally to get my hands on, but was able to find a 178-1037, which durmax folks say is the "new' version of that, and about 30 bucks cheaper. I have a few pics compared to the stock K5 unit. It seems to be pretty much spot on except for two points. The...

    replacement hydroboost unit?

thats interesting. rockauto says its for the 2011 year only. What do you know about it? in doing a google search, this one showed as an alternative on some chevy truck site and its slightly cheaper, its for 07-11 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JBJF5M7/

    replacement hydroboost unit?

right, thats what I was thinking. Im running a "chevy" booster on my scout (which was on a full size bronco). I know the astrovans are a popular swap for lots of people, I think thats what I started with years ago. THat is why I am looking for something newer to swap to. Id really like to...

    replacement hydroboost unit?

so I ordered a stock reman unit and one from an 05 master. Im guessing a chevy HB unit crosses over from rig to rig, with just the brackets being different and possibly pushrods (confirmed by the gal at Vanco. BTW Van is no longer there). However, the 06 silverado unit I got my hands on is...

    ORD swaybar ends?

anyone have an issue with the bolts that secure the extended links to the spring plates backing out? I crawled under my kids blazer with 4" ORD front springs and the ORD swaybar kits, and the bolts were missing on both sides. Ill get new hardware and loctite it, I just was surpirsed they both...

    Bowler Clutch pedal?

yes sir, fordyce and rubicon are just a stones throw, however hoping my son doesnt want to beat on this too much. He can take my car if he wants to really go wheeling.

    Bowler Clutch pedal?

thnks. I understand pedal ratio pretty well. Ive had some setups that worked realy well, and others that are super squishy. Learned about ratio the hard way. Thats why I was hoping to be able to take my pedal arm, and throw it on the 81 bracket, then all I have to do is fab up the MC mount...

    Bowler Clutch pedal?

sent blueox a message regarding this, but maybe you know as well. I need hydro/hydro for the 87. I can find a manual assembly locally from an 81. Are the brake pedals swappable between seemblies so all I would have to do is swap the foot pads and not dick around with pedal ratio, etc? Id...

    tranny mount/crossmember- urgent help needed

The way I read your post above was unclear (post#8) as to what you were putting inthe long wheelbase category, I was just clarifying. the bolts were still in place. PO put the bolts down from inside the frame, and they did not fall out. so you all have peaked my interest and Ive been trying...

    replacement hydroboost unit?

the one on my kids 87 K5 is leaking. Id rather not put a remanufactured cardone unit in it. Does anyone know a more modern boost unit that would work? swapping brackets is easy enough, as is swapping the pushrod. Dont even care if the fittings are different, but would still need it pretty...

    tranny mount/crossmember- urgent help needed

Bolts didnt shear, the nuts came off. I wouldnt put a k5 in the long wheelbase category. ill have to check driveline angles without the spacers. If needed Ill just make a spacer from some square tube. Thanks for the info. Still having a hard time understanding the point of the spacers...

    Bowler Clutch pedal?

i had a zf in a fullsize bronco. Really liked it. The 4500 is really pretty similar, and teh slow shifting will be perfect for the teenager. Pedals are the issue holding me up right now

    tranny mount/crossmember- urgent help needed

unfortunately, the only ace nearby is pretty limited. Im looking through mcmaster now. why would they put spacers on top of the frame? i dont doubt you, just seems kind silly design. I understand dropping it for a lift and driveline angles. Is it necessary with a 4" lift?

    tranny mount/crossmember- urgent help needed

spacers seem to go between crossmember and frame, not on top of the frame? also, anyone know where to get them so I dont have to make them?

    tranny mount/crossmember- urgent help needed

the kids 87 k5 continues to kick us in the nuts. Suddenly he couldnt shift to park. immediately I thought it was adjusting the 700r4. nope. The damn bolts on the drivers side of the crossmember came off, and dropped that side off the frame. Its torn the trans mount as well. Im guessing I...
