    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

Mineral spirits maybe? I use it to get paint off my hands...

What have you done to your square lately??

I built a '70 Chev stepside with my son, and he liked drop-shifting to do burnouts... and breaking transmissions. I told him the tranny problems were his to pay for and it took him two times before he realized drop shifting was maybe a bad idea.

What have you done to your square lately??

Speaking of which, does anyone have a body lift they've removed and don't need anymore? I need the front cushions in particular but I could use all four cab cushions.

Chrome reverse, or stock with beauty rings and and baby moons are nice enough, and no one needs a loan.

What have you done to your square lately??

Three critical things... Don't mess with the float level unless you were having problems with it before. Don't mess with the adjustment screws unless you were having problems before. Any adjustment should be done very gently. Lots of carbs are ruined by screwing down the adjusting screws too...

Oh maaaaan... I like the ones with the patina.

Do you have an overflow bottle/expansion tank on it? If not, I'd put one on and monitor the coolant there. You might find it fluctuates by the warmth in the engine.

By this... I mean that if you have a battery that will power the starter it is being charged by the alternator... and if the truck starts then it isn't an electrical problem involving the alternator or battery.

What have you done to your square lately??

If the starter motor will crank to start, then a vehicle will run on the battery for a long ways.

What have you done to your square lately??

I had a friend that painted and he had a little tool that could shave the sags till they were gone. It had a razor blade that skinned off the high spots. The tool was maybe the size of a silver dollar.

Building a new motor for my 79 C10 - would love some advice!

If you are looking for a daily driver engine and not using it for making your penis bigger... then a simple "RV" cam and a set of headers is the most bang for the buck you can put in your engine compartment. The combination is known to be the most reliable, power increasing, mileage increasing...

My M37 had 5.73s (?) in it and it was only spec't to do 45/50 mph.

What have you done to your square lately??

I had a rag joint break once and the steering wheel just spun endlessly. The car had a left front brake that would grab, too. And I'd just gotten off the freeway after doing 100MPH+. One of those nine lives kinds of things...

Did you know that in Colorado they have made former military trucks illegal for highway use? And people with collections can no longer drive them on the road...

Is there a decent compressor made these days? I've been looking for one for about a year and haven't pulled the trigger yet. Twenty years ago I would have bought the first thing I'd see and expect it to be reliable but today the reliability seems very questionable.

What have you done to your square lately??

Back in the day... for about a decade when points were being replaced with ignition modules... the vehicles would cut out and die suddenly for no apparent reason. A very common problem. Sometimes they would start right up and run fine for hours, sometimes not start for hours, and sometimes start...

Most of the guys with the really custom rigs have never lifted a wrench. Some maybe, but most pay for what they have. Did he drive his trailer queen to the meet?

What have you done to your square lately??

I had a stepside longbed trailer and I made the mistake of selling it. It's hard to find a longbed trailer, much less one that's a stepside. Six foot trailers should be illegal.

I'm gonna leave the patina on my engine in the body swap show truck I'm building. The body will have original patina so the engine will too.

What have you done to your square lately??

Coming along on the chassis swap. Using the original front cab mounts from the '78 Chevy, but I'll have to modify the rear mounts using the ones from the M37.

Okay, curious why you went from TBI to carb. Most people I know with square bodies tend to prefer the opposite.

Glad I avoided those types... The men they tend to associate with are usually just as broken.
