door lock cylinder not working on passenger side

SUCCESS!!!! I ordered new door lock pawls from Tuckers. A left and a right. THEY are the parts that are side specific. Clocked differently. Now works as they should!! Happy wife now lol. Here’s a pic of the old and the new. Sorry, wasn’t smart enough to take a pic before I installed it.

What have you done to your square lately??

Just spent the last hour and a half rust checking the square body. Glad I put a couple drop sheets down first. Messy operation but well worth it. Looks like a greased pig underneath!

door lock cylinder not working on passenger side

I “think” the problem is with the door lock pawls. I’ve got a set on the way now. Apparently that is the part that is side specific. They are clocked differently, the pass side and the drivers side. The one on the pass side is not even close to lining up with the locking mechanism...

door lock cylinder not working on passenger side

No sir Never really thought about it since. But we’ve been using the truck A-LOT this summer and not being able to unlock the passenger side with the key as normal is a PITA. I think I’m gonna order another set of locks. I’m wondering if the set I bought previously contained 2 locks for the...

    84 K10 speedo/transfer case question

My speedo quit yesterday on the highway. It’ll sometimes come to life a little at slower speeds, but quit again. Haven’t tested cable yet with a drill, but will. My question is, does the 700R4 and the NP208 transfer case use the same coloured plastic gears for the different ratios? I can...

What have you done to your square lately??

Latest thing I did to my truck:( Not on purpose of course! Too much birch firewood on a rather “rough” forestry road and this is what you get I guess. Wish me luck on getting the bolt out of the leaf eye!! Codfish

    Disappearing coolant

We’ll finally pulled drivers side head. Thinking it got hot at some point before I got it. Had fun prying the head off. Gasket separated into 3 layers. LOTS of fun cleaning the surfaces…. Back together now and running good. Lifters quieter now. Bonus. Once I get it back on the road I’ll...

    not getting gas to carb

Disconnect fuel line from carb. Crank it over or prime/start it with your favourite spray and see if the pump is working. Quadrajet carb? Could be a plugged inlet filter. Codfish

    Disappearing coolant

Leak down test done. #7 the gauge went right to high (bad) then slowly went to low (good). No bubbles in the rad at first, but once the gauge went to the low zone, the whole column of coolant in the rad started to rise to the point of spilling out. Stopped the test at that point...

Dodge 440 in K10 Motor Mounts

There’s a decent amount of different oilpans and headers on the market now for putting an RB in pretty much any Mopar vehicle, so some of those should definitely work in the relatively large cavity of your pickup. I put a stroked RB in a 68 Dart a few years ago (528”) using a Milodon pan and...

    Disappearing coolant

That was my guess too. Would’ve liked to see a compression test with a cylinder way lower than the rest to indicate that. And I forgot to mention that the cooling system will hold pressure for a week or more, without being driven or even started.

    Disappearing coolant

So since I’ve owned this rig I’ve had a slow coolant disappearing act going on. ZERO water in the oil. No visible external leaks. No smell of coolant in the exhaust whatsoever. Used the ole girl harder this weekend than usual, moving from one cabin to another. “Used” about 3/4 of a gallon...
