    Problem solved

All is well. I didn’t realize that the cap was 16 pounds, and I always ran 7 pound caps previously. Big difference!! No blown head gasket or any issues now. Reset the timing and switched the vacuum advance hose to another port. The coolant still bubbles out of the radiator different than any...

    Problem solved

I have NEVER had an issue taking the radiator cap off while running within normal operating temperature. It has an edelbrocj intake on it. As far as bubbles, the thing doesn’t seem to be normal all the time. Some times as it warms up, it does have bubbles and when the thermostat opens everything...

    Problem solved

Thanks for all of the responses! New water pump and thermostat. Started it today and coolant came out of the intake hose so I put it on the heater core and the heater worked fine, BUT I took it for a drive and it ran pretty crappy and never got above 160 but heater was hot. When I got home, went...

    Problem solved

no nipple on the radiator because I used the non stock radiator. I figured if it could go into the radiator- why not the lower radiator hose. Same route of circulation and it allowed me to used the bigger radiator that I already had vs buying a new one. Everything circulated through the motor...

    Problem solved

the motor is out of an 82 and worked fine in my old wood truck! I put it in this truck and No bueno. The heater worked before! I was thinking about the possibility of a blown head gasket, but really no reason for it just swapping motors. How coolant doesn’t come out of the black line coming off...

    Problem solved

I am trying to get heat on my 87 and it doesn’t seem to circulate correct no matter what I do! Should the 3/4 coming off the intake pump water while running? I would think so because it’s right beside the thermostat that flows when open. New thermostat and water pump. Everything motor wise works...

thanks for your information. A little deeper than originally planned! About like everything else in life! Sharp truck Craig! That is my favorite look also . Now I’m on the fence of if I want to dive into the swap or not. I have everything 87. BUT if I put it together like that it will be like...

    Front clip swap?

I was planning to my 87 to a 76 style till I realized that I need more than just the radiator support, which I have and did a lot of work so I can use a mishimoto radiator that I have off a Cummins I sold. If I get the 66 style fenders , a 76 hood also? I see the older ones that the hood goes...

    Wiring help needed

I’m kind of thinking that a wire should come from the starter big terminal or the back of the alternator, but which side of the firewall junction box will go on? On top of my red with fusible link on last picture? If it came from the starter like that- then the fuse box would always have power

    Wiring help needed

I have two older harnesses and one has two wires that go on the big starter terminal and feed power to fuse box. The other one kind of looks like wiring diagrams for the truck with heavy red wire and fusible links.
