How do I test mechanical fuel pump

I’m in a situation where I took off my quadrajet, without checking my fuel pump. Can I just crank it over a couple times without a carb on it ? Now I’m looking at carbs and the Edelbrock setup calls for a fuel pump change to regulate the pressure and if mine is toast then I might as well go...

I cross threaded the fuel filter, now she’s leaking. Thought I had it on straight. Guess I’m an idiot. Besides that, what can a guy do ? Jb weld? Thread tape?

I took off the top of the carb to get into the needle and seat. So power piston came off. The old gasket was torn apart. Accel pump off. Needle and seat. And the float assembly. Replaced the air horn gasket, needle and seat. Put everything back and tightened her up. Then it’ll start and run for...

No fuel in carb at start up

Hey everyone, I have a small issue. Recently I’ve been having to pour gas into the carb bowl for my 1985 to start. Even after a day or two of getting it going. Is this an oil pressure sending unit problem ? Any suggestions for what I should do first ? Thanks in advance

    Horn has no power

Mission success. It was the ground wire from the spring contact. Right where I should have started so I hope this thread helps someone else down the line and I thank everyone for the help. The horns needed rebuild anyways. And I now know exactly how the horn circuit works
