China offers products that cost less than the raw materials do here. I used to pride myself in using domestic products even if they cost more. Exhaust pipe kits from @mazon/ eBay
Hi all, My ‘84 stepside is bone stock, ordered new. I have been searching for a stock tailpipe replacement 2 into 1 into 2 out one side and have not been able to locate. Not sure if all stepsides had that configuration or only with the glide-out spare tire carrier.- Finkaire

Ordered two aftermarket radiators, neither fit. Not many shops that recore these days, copper and brass, be prepared to bend over. Overall very happy and keeping it OE makes perfect sense.- Finkaire

Opinions on best newish Suburban or Tahoe
Loved my Suburban! Depending on where you live dictates on how much it will cost to fill the tank. The LS engine is bulletproof. I like the 11th edition 2015 thru 2020, a good looking truck IMHO. Too much electronics on the latest edition. Wouldn’t mind having one myself!- Finkaire

Opinion thread- 81 silverado grill you like or ?
The grille on the ‘84 was one of the first attractions to the truck, body color divider. Of course my favorite, that said I strongly believe in keeping cars and trucks original as possible. Can’t go wrong! -

Unless you are making a business of it, just get a vacuum pump and a set of gauges, you will be fine. If you are dispensing from a 30lb tank you will also need a scale. A lot of good information! Once more though, PAG oil is a corrosive and should NOT be used in a retro-fit system. Ester oil should be used and is surprisingly not mentioned. 45 years in automotive A/C BTW Chinese green O-rings may not hold up, Buy your O-rings from Ford, they come pre-lubed and...- Finkaire

Kick panels with 6.5" speaker pods
Im using stock dash and rear corner speakers along with a JBL underseat subwoofer powered by Retrosounds. No thump but Very pleased! -
AC Condenser - Should I use New Or Original.
Either way you go use an Ester oil, PAG is a corrosive and may take out your evaporator FYI -
R12 Replacement
R-12 NOS is still available though Craigslist. Demand has gone down as well as the price. Nothing will work better in a R-12 system than R-12. Make sure that its not Freeze12 or other replacement refrigerants from the time. -
Needing some help
Many different aftermarket A/C systems in that era, all out of Texas. You would be much better off starting fresh with a company like Vintage Air -
putting in air conditioner
PAG is a a corrosive and will take out your evaporator. Only use an Ester oil in a retro-fit system. -
AC Troubleshooting 1976 GMC C15
Low pressure is on the high side of normal range. 50psi should mean your outlet temperature should be about 50 degrees. Anywhere between 40 and 50 degrees is within normal range. In my opinion if you could get more air going across the condenser the performance would improve. -

Radiator condenser combo.
After a couple of fitment issues with aftermarket radiators I had my original OE high efficiency radiator re-cored. Not inexpensive but looking back, I have no regrets- Finkaire
