My pump started leaking at the shaft seal, bearings went out on it after driving 100 or so miles after it blew the sector shaft seal from a bad remaned gear box. i got the steering pump with the reservoir, figure im already messing with changing out the pulley why bother with one more thing.

    Tuning for altitude

I'll be towing with the suburban, I'm thinking I might need to invest in efi to not deal with altitude change and fuel economy. On that note is the Holley Sniper kit better than the Edlebrock?

    Tuning for altitude

It squirts pretty good. I'm wondering if it's the wrong profile for the weight of the vehicle.

    Tuning for altitude

My bad, so it's a 350 Blueprint engine. 220 intake, 224 exhaust with .50 duration at 114 degree lobe separation cam. 609 heads with the plugs gapped at .45 per Blueprints recommendation. I've gotten about a max of 14 inches of vacuum after tuning with the 64 jets. Theres a hesitation at take off...

    Tuning for altitude

This was driving 5 miles at 65, shutting down and pulling over and checking after a few minutes cooling down. Thanks I've been looking for a calculator. Blue Print recommended those plugs since they run the 906 heads.

    Tuning for altitude

So been messing with a holley carb, I'm at 4500 feet and the jets that came with it are for sea level. After research, they said to drop down a jet size for every 2k feet. The carb came with 66 jets. I went down to 64 jets and it ran better. Timing is at 32degrees total. What do you guys think...

    Engine swap

So started out with a 350 with a window. Pulled it. Started rebuilding the spare engine that came with it and quickly realized it wasn't going to be super reliable with out lots of work. Ended up with this from Blueprint

So is this this trash? Cylinder 1 had carbon build and number 4 has a lip that my nail gets hung up on. Theres at least 2 more with lips but not enough to catch. Almost all water passages were completely clogged. Cylinder 1

    86 Suburban 350 Swap

I power washed the outside and then doused in WD40 before pics. It had been caked in oil and dirt before. My main concern is the bearing and pitting. No bronze from what I can tell from caps 3 and 4 from what I can tell.

    Barn Door Locking Mechanism

So looks like I'm in the missing finger club. Need to find the finger and panel since its gone. after a bunch of reasearch its called a Door Lock Pawl. I can find it for the front doors but not the barn door. i might just order one and make it work... or just rig something up.

    Barn Door Locking Mechanism

I believe so. I'll take a picture when i get home. I remember checking doors and slid it into the locked position and kicking myself in the ass because now I have to crawl through the back to unlock it. I lived in Orange County, CA and I don't believe in unlocked doors.

    Barn Door Locking Mechanism

so looks like you can rig something up that goes on the cylinder to throw that plate up and down. Looks like you're just missing that part. doesnt seem like LMC has the part tho.

    Engine code decoder

The person who pulled it said it came out of a 96 Suburban. After looking at the 140893638 number it is pointing to a older model. The bolts are the same angle which is awesome considering i'll be able to use the stock manifold from the 86 engine.
