    2011 Suburban 2500 console wiring

Upon further digging, I see that the amp is a Bose, and my “you ess gummint” fleet model Suburban did not come with the Bose sound system. Those wires were meant for the accompanying pieces of the system. I removed the accessory power/USB wires and will power them up.

    2011 Suburban 2500 console wiring

After installing a replacement adtermarket radio and replacing the Apple Play USB port with GM aux poer port I decided to see why the aux power, etc was not working in the console. Mystery solved, no harness(s) connecting the stuff in/under the console! Anyone have a clue what I need here to...

What new tools have you got lately?

Finally purchased an Innova 5160RS OBD2 scanner. Coupled with the app it has been very easy to use. Quite handy.

Used a Comp Cams retrofit roller with button. Trimmed the button a bit to fit correctly under the stock cover. Works fine.

What is my new squarebody??? Need help!

You may be able to use the serial number, which is probably a National Stock Number (NSN), and find it that way.

What new tools have you got lately?

Purchased a new valve spring compressor tool #648615 from Advanced Auto here. It could not budge the Comp springs on my 454. So I bought a large C clamp and made my own. Works great.

Question on RTV if needed or not

Prolly would not hurt. This may be obvious, but was not to me for a long time, if that is an auto, use the sealant rated for auto trans fluid.

Oil in the “heat passages” on BBC 360 heads

I was surprised to find lots of oil in the passages between the #4 and #5 exhaust over to the intake manifold on both 360 heads. Should I be? Cracked heads? Blowing in from the exhaust stroke? Thanks.

    Torque Value Calculation, JD 310D

According to the fine gentlemen over at another forum dealing with heavy equipment, the values are a plus or minus affair, so, for the rears, it is 425 foot pounds plus 125 or minus 85. Seems like a huge spread, 210, to me.

    Torque Value Calculation, JD 310D

Thanks. The rub is how do you measure backing them off? Angle? Distance? If distance, what scale is used? This stuff drives me crazy (ier).

Both the front wheel nuts and the rear wheel cap screws (bolts).

    Torque Value Calculation, JD 310D

Trying to figure out the rear wheel cap screw, 3/4x10, torque for my loader backhoe. Here’s the manual info. I am guessing the “equation” relates to force and distance. I have them torqued at 85 foot pounds right now. I’m sure some of you know this stuff. Thanks.

    2011 Suburban Box mystery

That makes sense. I will look to see where it should have been mounted. I imagine it can’t be too far away, given the length of the lines.

    2011 Suburban Box mystery

While looking at the empty spare tire carrier, I noticed a box that is tie wrapped in place. I have no idea what it is and why it is in the way of hanging a spare.

    Amazon TIG welders?

My 2 cents worth for new TIG welder is not to begin with a “scratch start” machine, and, once you start TIG welding you will likely yearn for more abilities, like welding aluminum.
