What A 500 + HP Peanut Port 454 Looks Like

This smooth idle engine went on to run 10.30s @ 3720 pounds in less than sea level conditions. Never under estimate a peanut port head (236) or most Chevrolet production parts, as they can deliver.

    489ci tow build...

It takes 2 hours porting per head, then the guide and valve job work. Then you're going to have a very responsive high torque engine. My 467 peanut port engines make 529 HP and 560 TQ with a 224 @ .050 cam. Notice the smooth idle......

    489ci tow build...

I think a set of 236 peanut ports properly done would the best choice. Depending on your elevation that would dictate the compression. I can guarantee I'd be over 500 HP and 600 TQ.

    Peanut Port #14092360

Here some information you can use. Those 360s are peanut port heads with stellite seats. Any factory carburated stock 454 engine made 320 HP with headers on the dyno. Properly done 9.3 comp, 228 @ .050 cammed 454s can perform like this: Not sure what can be done with the TBI 454.

400 SBC Build - Tight Budget

A well done 400 gets on most BBCs, and smokes a 383, before there was an aftermarket I was running 9s NA with production 400 blocks and small tires at full weight. I didn't use the 5.560 rods though, but I did use 350 5.7 rods. My 400s never ran hot and I've run them on the street, 160 degrees...

    1979 Big 10 Engine & Transmission Upgrade

My suspension is stock, my previous 327 ran 11.97 with a 1.63 60 foot. My new 350 has 90 more HP than the 327 and 104 TQ more. We also built a race trans, with a 2.75 low gear, my old trans the high gear was applying while in 1st gear. I now have a 20 % increase of power at the rear wheels...

    1979 Big 10 Engine & Transmission Upgrade

Ok, the new engine is installed and running, should have some track times soon when the track opens. One thing I noticed is it spins the slicks in high gear from a roll now, it didn't do that before. From my estimation I put 20% more TQ to the rear wheels on this build. Shooting for 11s in...

Power steering pump bracket for heads without accessory holes.

The bolt threads into a nut behind the alternator, I use 2 brackets tig welded together for extra strength. You can actually see this in the first picture if you look hard. NO------------problem.
