Thats why the #2 is a good choice for freeze plugs you can have a bit of movement and still seal and yes, it's the brown stuff. If you have some it's really good and kinda sticky. But if you are chipped up, IDK if it will seal properly? How did the chips in the iron happen?
I always used a smear of Permatex #2 on the brass plug/block because of a chance of an imperfection. But that was on an iron block though. Never had a leak, so far.
I was the original owner of the '84 K20 till I sold it so the tailgate came that way when I bought the truck new. I hate to scrap the tin trim but it needs to go soon to someone.
My '84 K20 Silverado Fleetside had the tin trim on tailgate and when I had the truck painted it was removed and replaced with the stick-on molding. Not sure why but I sold the truck and kept the trim. Its in really good shape and like to sell it to someone that can use it here in AZ. My painter...
I've had the wood stove, ceiling Reznor gas unit and now have the Lg Mini-split and love it. It wouldnt be right for everyone but its the best for me. Warm in the winter cool in the summer! Just keep the washable filter clean.
I have an OEM/NOS set of 13" rear shoes I bought for my '84 k20 and didn't use. I just cannot remember if they are gm or ac delco? I will look in the box if someone is interested as they need to go as I sold the K20. 50.00 obo plus ride
Nobody needs any dogdish hubcaps? They are going in the recycle soon. They are on ebay for 25.00 so pay for shipping and a few bucks more and they are yours.
I have one new cap for 16" steel wheels and one used. The new one includes the OEM box that it came in. It has a slight crease/damage on lip but I think it is still usable. Nice new shiny condition. I bought them when I had my 84 K20. The one with the scratch is the used one I was only allowed 5...
just a thought but my 84 silverado cruise had a led light that is connected behind the speedometer when the speedo turns, it breaks the light signal on the I'm thinking a chrome sorta wheel that spins that makes it read and hold the speed where you set it. I cannot think what this part is called...
thank you I would imagine napa carries the newer stuff all of mine is gates in 25 or 50' rolls but old but still very usable if we didnt have to deal with the ethenol.
I'm replacing my fuel tanks on my 84 K20 and I have gates fuel line in spools that is old 1997 stamped but never outside or in the sun been on my shelf for years.
But now this ethenol seems to degrade the std rubber fuel hose so what do you guys recommend?
I also found out you cannot reconnect...
the fill hose takes a gates 24716 at amazon for 15.00 each. I tried it on the spectra beat up tank and it fits perfect, you just have to trim both ends as its too long but is a formed 90 deg 1 5/8" I understand that the original is 1 3/4"??
I didnt see where spectra offers the fill hose and the 5/8" hose w/90deg bends anywhere but lmc. My 20 gal spectra gm1b came usp beat to hell so they have to send me a new one. The gates fill hose I recently got fits the new aftermarket tanks I dont have the number handy but the 5/8" is a lmc...
thanks I checked and the pic of the 5/8 vent hose is totally different. I dont plan on using efi because I want the stock look outside and under the hood. Wish I would have kept the original 350.
thanks I bought a spectra premium for amazon they had the best price and the third party that actually has it says they are still made in canada. As for the fill and vent/return I have to replace them too but want to get the tank first before I buy hoses so I know what size. they said the...

I understand the fill hose needs replaced and I have a gates fill hose but there is a 90deg formed return hose I believe that I cannot find anywhere other than lmc truck and its 20.00 each. thanks for the help. chuck
