    TH400 Direct Drum/Sprag Question

What about the Torrington thrust bearings, should those also be replaced? Also, I haven't had time to go through all of your videos yet, but do you have a picture of the plug used when doing the dual feed setup? Thanks!

    TH400 Direct Drum/Sprag Question

In your YouTube video, are you still using the TH400 case bushing? The 4L80E front pump bushings appear to be without any notches or channels. Also, when inspecting the friction clutch discs, is there a minimum thickness after which they should be replaced or is it best just to replace them...

    TH400 Direct Drum/Sprag Question

Shoot...I've already got a new TH400 case bushing that I was going to use before it was suggested to rollerize the rear bearing. Is it still possible to use the TH400 bushing and still seat it further into the case to help center the TH350 pump bearing? I'll have to see about finding the K-M...

Thanks for the info! For the bearing conversion of the rear thrust washer, is GM P/N 9436851 what I'm looking for? (for the bearing). What PN are the shims for the new bearing?

    TH400 Direct Drum/Sprag Question

Hello folks, I'm in the process of rebuilding a TH400 transmission for my 1983 K20 4x4 project. It's a 1987 TH400 which will have the roller-type sprag. It's going behind a nothing-special 350 V8 to be used for hauling and towing, such as a stock trailer and farm wagons, so wondering if I should...

    4x4 Stabilizer Bar Bushing Install

Hello folks, can someone describe the best way to install new OEM rubber bushings into the stabilizer bar ends for a 4x4? I've called around a couple of the shops in my area but neither could help. Is there a way to press them in that won't destroy the rubber? Thanks for the help.

    Rear Shackle Bushing - Replaceable?

Is the rubber/metal bushing that attaches the rear spring shackle to the frame support replaceable? It appears to be a smaller size than the 1.5 inch diameter bushing that goes in the rear spring eye. Do I have to buy the shackle assembly to replace the bushing? Shackles look good and not rusted...

    Ring and Pinion Numbers Mystery

Looking for help interpreting numbers on a Motive Gear gm10.5-373 gearset. I'm wondering what the numbers that are hand added mean? Ring gear has 0,08" Pinion has 2,190" Assuming that the comma is being used as a period, what do these numbers mean? Thanks!

    Leaf Spring Plastic Pieces

Thanks...do most people leave them out or just reuse the old ones?

    Ring and Pinion Question

This might be a dumb question but I assume there's a point where a ring gear and pinion set is too worn? I'm swapping in a used set of 3.73 gears into a 14 bolt FF and can't get a good tooth pattern. I'm no where near a gear expert but the pattern I'm getting would indicate fewer pinion shims...

    Leaf Spring Plastic Pieces

Is there a source for the plastic pieces that go between leaf spring assemblies and the axle/mounting bracket? I've circled the items in the picture below. I've got the originals but they're not in good shape. I think the same pieces are used on rear leaf springs as well. 1985 K20 frame.

    Backing Plates Question

I am in the process of swapping in 13 inch JB7 rear brakes onto a 14 bolt ff and found that the 1987 parts truck from which I'm getting the brake parts appears to have been using two left side backing plates. Or at least I assume that they are the same as far as the hole for the parking brake...

    New Wheel Studs or Reuse?

Working my way through rebuilding a corporate 10-bolt front axle and now installing new brake rotors (reusing original hubs). What's the general recommendation, always go with new wheel studs or reuse previous if they still have good thread and knurling? Thanks!

2WD to 4WD frame swap. Is it really that simple??? Help me out!

I'm in the process of doing the same swap for my 83 3/4 ton. I'm up in Wisconsin, but have been surprised by the number of decent frames that I've come across on FB Marketplace even being in the rust belt. I had brought home an immaculate 75 frame but was a little concerned about the 73-80 vs...

    Rear Leaf Load Rating Question

Thanks. Upon closer inspection, it would appear that they started life as 6/1 springs and someone added two leafs (leaves?) at some point. I'm going to check the arch to see if it's still around 4.75" which is specificied for the 6/1 sets.
