What have you done to your square lately??
Mounted new sway bar brackets, and got the sway bar mounted. Cleanded up bumper brackets and mounting bolts. Mounted the front bumper. Finished the rear brake line. Just little odds, and ends. -

Brought home my first square body. 1980 Silverado C10. Utah
:welcome: I would start by checking to see if the motor will turn by hand. Did the PO tell you why they parked it? I would change the oil, spark plugs, cap rotor, wires. You know just give it a basic tune up. Check all of you fuel lines from the tank to the motor. Replace all rubber fuel lines...- Mr Clean

Buddy of mine had me go to some garage sales with him today. Found a couple of 1970 Texas license plates the year I was born, and a couple of key chains. -

Got the brake lines done on the rear, well almost. I have a 90 deg. Fitting coming for the rear brake line T fitting. Moved the hard brake line braket. Custom rear flex lines to the calipers. -

What new tools have you got lately?
My poor bench grinder of 28 years finally gave up. So did a bunch of research and Delta kept coming up with lots of people being very happy with theirs. So I stepped up to a 8 inch variable speed. Still need to buy a wire wheel for it. Also while I was at Lowes pick up a 6 in one screw driver... -

There are replacements parts, that can be bought. I don't see how a solid steel worm gear can wear out with the ball bearings being the only thing riding in it. Maybe if the inside of the case would get bad grit in it. My gear box sat outside for better part of a decade, but it was fine on the... -

Got the steering gear back together. Getting all the ball bearings back in is a B I T C H!. Had to do it twice. The front cover lock is a big pain also. But all in all it isn't that hard. Just time consuming. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 6. I'm very pleased with myself. I'll never buy another... -

I don't know. This is the first one I have done. The seal kit with bearings was 42 bucks. I've got about 3 hours into break down and cleaning. Still have to assemble. 300+295 core charge. Tax and shipping both ways. So roughly 800 if you don't have a core. -

Not a tool you use all the time. I'm rebuilding my steering gear box, and needed a Spaner tool. I did some reading on decent spaner tools. The one from AZ got good reviews. So I got it. It did what it was supposed it. -
