    Harbor Freight Table and carts

I bought these a few weeks ago and thought I would show them as I like them and a good addition to my shop. Using big bench for teardown, carts for new parts, and the other for shop towels, waxes etc. 115 ea for the benches, 85 ea for carts. Yes assembly required for. I bought a 8'x24" piece of...

    BBC 489 build

Block is Mark IV virgin block I have been running. This engine has been excellent, solid, dependable, easy to service, good torque estimate around 400 hp at present. I have purchased quality parts to make this a 489. My goal is, obviously more of everything, torque, power, easy to maintain...

    More shop

Adding on to my shop for almost two weeks now, 85% done, but rain and snow for the next three days. Think I can get done by Sunday, the body is sore and tired. Installed over 800 screws on the roof and siding, legs and hands feel it. Will be nice to get my "stuff" under cover. Bolted to the...

Original Overlander, 1955 Chevy 3800 Van

In 1972, My childhood friend Leon went to Anchorage to work and bought this truck from a logging company. They had used it to carry chainsaws, and a place to get out of the cold. There was a small wood stove, and some chairs inside. Leon subsequently sold this to his brother Leroy, and he...

    Ferd for my Granddaughter

My granddaughter Charlotte (Charlie, 15 yrs old) is a horse lover, so she wanted a truck, and she liked this old Ford. My deal was she had to buy it with her own money, I charged her 1000.00. I wanted her to be able to say, "I bought my first vehicle, (truck.) As an old school dude, don't...

    Stroker 454

Anyone put a 4.5 crank in a stock block 454? 4.28 bore =517CI. Have been researching and it's been done, (Davis Vizard) uses 6.385 rod custom pistons. More practical is the Scat rotating with a 4.375 crank, W /4.28 bore yields 504. Thinkin of going that route. Anyone with a 504 out there?

    Water or Water alcohol injection

As I get closer to building the future power plant for the K20, one of the dilemmas is what compression ratio to run, and still be able to afford the fuel. Wa St has the highest fuel cost in the nation, around $5.00 gal. As a frugal farmer, I get my gas from the Indians, cause it is cheaper, but...

    Hit another darn post!!!!!

Buggered up my truck Wednesday, helping my friends widow, backing watching the trailer and hot a post, just pushed the mirror, I thought. When I opened the door at Mom's, (visit every wed, she's 97, sharp as a tac, sweet as sugar,) hit the fender and would not shut. I know it is just a material...

    Daily driver turbo

My 454 in the K20 is awesome, except the gas mileage. That excuse brings me to this subject, LS swap with a single turbo. I am a machinist by trade, 40 years, retired. However a longtime shop where I trade needed a machinist, so now I am the guy that does all the internal work, (bore, hone...

    BBC 205 4l80e conversion

I have a 1973 K20, 205, and am in the process of gleaning information for my swap. I bought the advanced adapters kit to couple the two wheel drive 4l80e to the 205. Without getting bogged down in all the details, I just had an idea, and am putting that out there to see if anyone has heard or...

    three port fuel selector valve

Just so folks know, NAPA off the shelf fuel selector valve exactly like the one in my 73. Just to let you'all know I haven't been setting on my hands, here is part of the mess from the ol' farm I sold recently. No more sprinklers to change, and change in my pocket to spend on my many cars, and...

New For Me 1985 Silverado 20 6.2 Diesel

Almost perfect body, 36-22-38. Has an overdrive trans, looks like it may be an early 4l80e. Fuel injector pump out, so prior owner did not want to put a couple thou into it, but I am confident with a little study I can R and R and get her running. This is, from what I understand, the Detroit...
