He also has a 81 Kawasaki GPZ stripped to the frame taking up another corner of the garage, and he wants to finish that first before the truck. :whymewhyme: But school and girlfriend are taking up all his time, lol. At least my girlfriend is buys with finals right now so all my free time can be...

    Door mirrors

It doesn't appear that you're in the minority, at least not on this forum. But I think that it is more retro. When were the dumbo mirrors first introduced? 75? My front clip is either 73 or 74. When I google image search 1973 c10 or k10, most of them have either tripod mirrors or the tiny sport...

    Door mirrors

They have more of the retro vibe that I'm going for than the dumbo mirrors. But if they're less functional then that would be a stupid swap to make. Hmmm... :hmm::help:

Our garage: My roommate's c10 is taking up most of the space. We're all pressuring him to get rid of it but "it just needs a little bondo then some paint, won't take any time at all" ... YEAH RIGHT!

HOW TO: front clip swap, 73-80 front clip on 80-87 cab/frame, square eye to round eye

Sunday was spent retrofitting stuff, and driving to Kansas City to buy new hood hinges from LMC and picking up some used wiper posts and linkage. That wasted like 3 hours so I didn't get a whole lot finished, I was hoping to have it all finished by now but oh well. I payed $80 for two hinges...

HOW TO: front clip swap, 73-80 front clip on 80-87 cab/frame, square eye to round eye

There are no photo-documented tutorials for how to do this swap. None online that I could find. Therefore, I hope this information can be added to the collective knowledge of the squarebody community. Below is a detailed pictorial of how I made this swap. I'm not saying it's the right way or...

    Crooked bed?

I just looked under my bed and there's some shims under some of the bolts. I'll have to do some shimming soon too.

    Door mirrors

I see now that there is a subforum all about glass and mirrors, so if moderator wants to move this there then that is cool. Well I went and bought the small tripod mirrors in the pic from LMC. They have a good return policy so if I don't like it then I can return them no problems. I...

Is this cab worth trying to save?!

CORRECTION: That patch panels from LMC are generic. But I bought an inner fender from LMC a few days ago and the sticker had the LMC brand on it. It was still made in Taiwan of course.

Is this cab worth trying to save?!

Well LMC don't really make them, they don't even rebrand them, it could be the same patch panels from any classic parts catalog or ebay or amazon. I don't remember what the labels said, except "made in Taiwan" and some serial numbers and a generic looking logo. I used flux core wire to weld...

Best place to buy body repair panels? (Rockers, cab floor, corners, etc.)

I bought some patch panels from LMC and welded them on a few days ago. Super cheap but they fit like crap. But that's ok because my welds are crap and I'm going to need a lot of bondo anyways.

Jegs has a somewhat modern shaft style radio

They are pretty cool, I want one no modern crap (though an aux input would rock) [edit: oh it has that!] but they're totally overpriced! I'm thinking about building a custom solution...

    Crooked bed?

WHAT?! My '83 bed is uneven too! Wow, can't believe GM fucked up. At least I don't have to worry any more about the frame being bent. There are no body mounts under the bed, at least not for my year 1983. I think I'll try shimming it when I have more time.

    Decent quality bumpers/hoods/tailgates?

I've been told that the cowl hoods all suck EXCEPT for the Goodmark brand ones.

    Decent quality bumpers/hoods/tailgates?

Yeah thats the way to go really, especially for hoods.
  23. MannyDantyla

    Decent quality bumpers/hoods/tailgates?

I'm driving to LMC to pick up a chrome bumper and I'm going to compare their "premium" bumpers to the regular ones. I'll let ya guys know the difference. The guys at the parts counter and pretty honest I've found. Good advice, thanks.

    Door mirrors

I'm thinking about what kind of door mirrors I might install, and the small ones in the pic below are looking about right. The small little tripod door mirrors... I don't want real little mirrors like the sport mirrors because IMO it looks like T-Rex with his tiny little arms, lol. Anybody...
