    4.3L muffler recommendations

4.3's sounds pretty good with a mild flowmaster or equivalent 2 chamber, leave the cats in place.

    Thoughts on satin black

If you are gonna rattle can it might come out a little blotchy. More work and money involved but if you get a good 2k aerosol paint and satin primer the job will last much longer and be more resistant sun fade and rock chips. Those cans are like 15-25 each depending where you go. Maybe single...

Painting exterior with a roller - how sacrilegious

I'll try to get more info from my brother who owns a marina but he has done it. He also rolls boat hulls and they look like glass. I think he uses foam rollers and changes the ratio of hardener and reducer. If you look up how to roll boat hulls to a high gloss I think you'll be on the right path.

i blew up my SBC 350...thinking LS

Rebuilding the SBC will be faster and easier. On the other side a $700 donor vehicle will net a free LS motor after you part it out. You have a real advantage having the whole vehicle. Quick and dirty (possibly incomplete) of what you will need: Engine Trans Harness (plus harness modification...

    1979 Trans Am - 25 years in a garage

Thanks. So glad, and thankful! I actually started the job yesterday and was just pussy footing along. After I came in and sat down I told my wife what I was doing and that I had left the tools I needed on the floor so I can just dive in next time. Besides not working on the cold dirt not having...

    1979 Trans Am - 25 years in a garage

Quarantine progress! Rockauto is open so I decided to check on the rear brakes. Found no hard lines to the drums (probably due to the rebuilt rear) all other brake hardware is new. Gonna order new cylinders anyway, not gonna trust 20+ year old things that have been sitting. Also found no rear...

    Greetings from Wesley Chapel Florida

Welcome aboard, nice lookin truck. The tints help set it off, even though they are a must in FL. Lived in Daytona for a bit and have justified the cost for working AC and dark tints ever since haha.

    Misc questions

Unlike women, those 48 year old buzzers eventually keep quiet. Its probably more like a turn signal flasher with a little metal filament to trigger the sound and its probably worn out by now. Does your truck have a seatbelt light in the cluster? If it does i'm willing to bet the buzzer works...

Get that Viper right, romp on it for a bit and trade it away for a decent C2. I think it can be done.

    the viper mistake

Thats my problem. I buy them, then sell one when I want or need some extra cash. Then go hell bent on replacing it. I'm up to 8 now. Getting a garage and property didnt help a damn thing.

    8.1 Vortec 496 Gas Or 5.9 Cummins Diesel For A 1983 C20 4 Door Dually With A Turbo 400 3 Speed Auto

x2 on the trans gearing if you go cummins but the adapter for a gm trans is wasted money imo if its a 2wd. Get a 47rh behind it and budget for upgrades on that. If you are going to haul consistently then the diesel is the way to go. Its gonna cost you more upfront and maybe overall. You will...

Will Seafoam down the throttle body destroy my O2 sensor?

Never had an issue with seafoam messing anything up. Never concerned myself with what was coming out of the pipe but if these are new 02 sensors maybe pop in the old ones or a pipe plug.

    1976 with a 4.8 LS swap info

Thanks. I'm always getting that wrong. If you get an older NP241 you can use a dakota digital pulse generator to give the PCM a VSS signal and maintain your existing cable driven speedometer.
