    Factory front leaf spring sag.....

Ride quality is all about spring rate and the actual amount of weight on that particular spring. High spring rate + little weight = Stiff ride Low spring rate + little weight = Nice ride Low spring rate + lotsa weight = Sagging & bouncy ride High spring rate + lotsa weight = Nice ride Get the...

    Another lift question

Yep. I say go for it. If it ends up needing a little bit more, no big deal. Just give her a little more height.

    Another lift question

I meant more so the overall wheel well opening considering how the fenders tuck back in which would be your first point of contact with the tires. Assuming you mean 255/70R22.5 tires, those are tall, but pretty narrow. Wouldn't really stick out all that much. You may be able to get away with a...

    headlight replacements

Honestly, buy a cheap kit and replace the relays with a set of sealed ones or find one with sealed relays already. The see through relays are ones you want to avoid using since they're either not sealed, or not sealed well and have a tendency to leak or gather moisture causing them to rust...

    question about rear suspension

Our stock trucks came with the shackle under spring style bracket. Helped keep the center of gravity a little lower. You could install a longer shackle in the rear to lower it, but you would end up hitting the cross bracing on the bed. If you don't want to modify the bed, you could do a Spring...

aftermarket radiator and electric fan options

I'm gonna install a set of dual 14" Procomp 2053-S fans with a Flex-a-lite variable speed fan controller. Fans were roughly $80-100 and the fan controller was about $150. Still need to make a shroud, but really not that bad for a set of electric fans that push about 1800-2000 cfms each.

    headlight replacements

Relay kits just prevent the voltage drop through the headlight and ignition switch harness by pulling power directly from the battery to the headlights. It also helps make your headlight switch last longer. You can also use just about any H4 Hi/Low relay kit. Just make sure you get one with 4...

    14bff posi options?

I thought lockers worked normally as a single wheel until there was enough of a slip that it engages and locks the two axle wheels together and forces them to turn at the same rate? I may be wrong, but isn't the downside to LSDs that when you lose grip on one tire, it transfers power to the...

    headlight replacements

The biggest limitation on our trucks in the headlight switch. You've got full current running through it thus why it can get hot. Also why the rela6 mods work pretty well for our trucks.

    headlight replacements

I just recently finished a set of projector retrofits for my truck. Purchased my projectors off of www.theretrofitsource.com Used a set of FXR 3.0's with 55w 6k D2S bulbs in a universal "diamond cut" 7 in. H4 conversion headlight. It took a solid amount of work to make that giant projector...

I'll snag a photo tomorrow or the day after, but I've got a Grant GT wheel in mine. Aluminum center with Mahogany outer. Like this one:

    rubber mounting kits

Forget the exact brand I went with, but installed poly bushings on my truck. It tightened everything up and took away that bit of slop from the worn out rubber bushings. I like em.

    Another lift question

I think your biggest issue will be the width of the wheels for the rear fenders. My guess is you'd probably need around a 6" lift for 37's on the street and probably still need trimming as well.

4" rough country all spring lift

I took a quick look, most posts were stating about 750lbs for the diesel 6.2L dry and close to 900lbs when fully loaded. Even at that difference of up to 325lbs being fully loaded, you're talking a difference of about 6-7 tenths of an inch sag at new. Biggest issue would be how long they will...

4" rough country all spring lift

Superlift looks like they have the highest spring rate of anyone per given lift size. Find the difference in weight between a 350 and the 6.2l, and it'll show you how much it will sag. If it's a 500 lb difference, then you'll size 1" lower in the front due to weight versus the same springs on...

4" rough country all spring lift

Same springs on the front of my truck. Opted for the ORD shackle flip in the rear though. I've got a small block, so no issues with sagging. Rides real smooth. What's the comparable weight of a ready to install 350? That would be able to help determine how much sag a given set of springs...

4" rough country all spring lift

Did you happen to get a spring rate from Rough Country? The Superlifts were rated for 560lbs/in. Which would definitely be a stiff ride with a small block, but may be just right with a big block. You may need to get a spring pack as well as an add a leaf to help add some stiffness to any...

4" rough country all spring lift

You'd just need a set that has a heavy spring rate in the front for the extra weight. I'd think the 6.2 diesels weigh about the same as a big block chevy.

1984 GMC 1/2 ton. Want to modify please help!

Body bushings arent too hard at all. Spray them with penetrant for a day or two before, then loosen em all up with a breaker bar. Use a floor jack and a block of wood between the jack and the body. Remove bolts on one side at a time. Lift it high enough to pull old bushing out and slip new one...

    Side Mirrors or Not??

I honestly think our trucks look funky without any sort of mirror on them. I'm a bit more partial to the stainless dumbo mirrors, but I definitely wanna see how it turns out for ya using those blacked ones whether you cover em, repaint em, or stick em on as is.

    Top Speed Roughly??

For the other side of the spectrum, my 74 does pretty well at 75 with a th350, np203, 4.11's and running 35's. But she's always been happiest at 40-45 even before a lift and tires.
