whats the trick for better ride?

4in is pretty much the max before you really have to start changing a lot of things. At 6in, you're looking at driveshafts, steering components, and brake lines.

whats the trick for better ride?

For my truck, I went with a 4" EZ Ride springs in the front, 4" shackle flip in the rear. Rancho RS9000XL shocks for the adjustability. Opted for the greasable bolts and that made a huge difference. The truck rode like a brick without any suspension before, now she's actually pretty comfy to...

What have you done to your square lately??

I'd build a patch panel from the same gauge. Tie it in as cleanly as possible too.

Switching over to gps speedo help

I'd use a cap if male threads, bolt/set screw style if female.

    Need better fuel mileage

If you stopped towing the ford around, you might actually get some decent mileage for once!!!!:happy175:

I do, but I also really don't wanna know my annual fuel expenditure for my truck.

Engine off and trans in neutral too? Just bump start her every time you hit the bottom of the hill.

    Back brakes lock before fronts

Just for added clarification, at what speed will it lock up on you? How hard are you actually on the brakes? Even with my 35's, I can lock the rears up on my truck pretty easily if I have to make a pretty solid stop. I've got 12.5" wide wheels, and I'll definitely bet its easier with skinnier...

    to do list/app/spread sheet question/discussion

Based on your layout, I wonder if you could have a separate page for each main area: Body, Engine, Suspension, Axles, Etc. And somehow have them link to that main page so if you added in one or the other it'd update in both. Like you could have the big stuff on the main page, then all the actual...

    to do list/app/spread sheet question/discussion

I use spreadsheets for truck parts all the time. I mainly keep a parts list and project list on my phone so I can add to it when I've got an idea out on the run and all. Here's two sheets I put together. One was a format I grabbed from some shopping list where it was setup to automatically pick...

Longer wheel studs for 1/4" spacers

Open rear diff yeah, but that was when I was still on 32's as well. Definitely planning for an elocker or an air locker though! One of these days!

    New one here

Welcome to the board! I'm in the process of rebuilding my 350 and I opted for the Sealed Power Gasket sets since it uses just about all the blue felpro gaskets. Definitely felt it was worth it to spend the extra bucks for a high quality gasket kit so you don't have to worry about any leaks...

Longer wheel studs for 1/4" spacers

I like em matching, but also miss having the front out so much more too. Without the rear spacers, you could just barely see the rear tires there. Still have the factory spare (with nibs and all) and had to use it once to get her on home.... The absolute oddest sight seeing that tiny tire...

    Need better fuel mileage

I'd be happy with 9-10 consistent. With 4.10's, th350, np203, and 35's under a 4-5" lift was only giving me maybe 8 mpg. But could be the difference in the drivetrain and the tune of the engine as well.

Longer wheel studs for 1/4" spacers

I've got a set of 2" bolt on adapters for my truck. I've had em on the rear for a good bit over a year, took the fronts off before I added more lift in the front. The 35's on a 4" lift were bad enough, pushing em 2" further out made it even worse for rubbing. Couldn't hardly make any turn...

How'd you run your spark plug wires?

Yep. They look to be super easy to make. Especially since they just use a pretty standard set of wire separators.

How'd you run your spark plug wires?

I had a set of wire separators that were like these: I'm gonna try to build a bracket that run them as cleanly as these:

    U bolt dimensions

A bit late, The 12-bolts are indeed 3" axle tubes. For length you need, you can take the thickness of spring pack (probably 3-5") + the axle tube diameter (3") add on an inch for the nut and a half inch for threading. If I remember correctly, 9/16" does sound correct. $80 for a set of ubolts...

    Back up light issues

I'd throw the truck in reverse and verify you have voltage at the reverse light with a voltmeter. If you have voltage, then check the ground. If ground is good, then its the bulb. If you don't have power, then check it coming out of the reverse switch. If power out of the switch, then you...

    Lifted brake line measurements

I'm only at 4-5" lift, but went with a set of ORD's braided lines. http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/braidedbrakelines.htm Lift Height: Brake hose length 3-6": 25" front, 18" rear 7-10": 29" front, 22" rear 12"-14": 33" front, 26" rear Hope that helps.

    spare tire support

I've found you can fit up to a 33x11.50 on a 10" wide wheel if you replace the original carriage bolt with a longer one. With #5, you could easily tap a piece of thickwall tubing and just weld on a round for a lock and probably function just about the same.
